VENUS CONJUNCT SATURN

A conjunction or conjunct symbol is an aspect that emphasizes and brings together the energies of the planets involved. Conjunctions focus and intensify the energy much like a laser beam on an exact point in your chart. These planets have their own uniqueness and when tag-teamed their energy is intensified even more.

It is important to understand that Venus rules Love, beauty and relationships. Venus is aesthetic and artistic, while Saturn rules stability and longevity (time). Saturn is disciplined, responsible and cautious.

This aspect makes one shy and inhibited in personal relationships. There is a fear or hesitation in commitment and tends to either be the one in control or the one who chooses a partner who tries to control you. One of the parents may have been too strict and consequently results in a fear of expressing yourself. Once you overcome your feelings of inadequacy you will have the ability to form secure and long-lasting relationships based on firm foundations because this aspect also makes one faithful and loyal.

Remember, conjunctions intensify the energy of the planets involved. It's like Venus and Saturn are sitting side-by-side on the couch. They are not at opposite ends of the couch, Venus and Saturn are seated right next to each other with shoulders, hips and knees touching.

Venus 'needs' some Love and Saturn is putting the squeeze, limitation and restriction on it. The intimate, private and exclusive desires are not being met. Saturn is being a bit cold, stern and insensitive to the personal needs of Venus. This is because Venus is a personal planet and Saturn is a transpersonal or social planet.

Think of it this way, the teenager in the house is making fun of the needs, knowledge or lack of experience of the pre-teen in the house. As a result, the pre-teen feels abandoned, rejected and neglected when all they wanted was to hang out with their older sibling.

Venus feels Love, but Saturn is a natural restrictor and limitor. Saturn is a cold planet and cools down anything that needs heat; therefore, Saturn is icy, tough and a bit insensitive to those personal needs. Did you know that Venus is the hottest planet in our Solar System at 867 degrees? So you see, Venus is hot-blooded, not cold-blooded. Saturn is the cold-blooded one that sits at -288 degrees. These two (2) in a conjunction are incompatible. Saturn says, "Don't cling to me" while Venus says, "Hold my hand."

Venus is feminine, female, estrogen and yin energy, while Saturn is masculine, male, testosterone and yang energy. Under this Venus conjunct Saturn aspect they happen to be in the sign of Aries, which is a pursuer. You might feel like saying to your Honey Love, "What's wrong?" or maybe your Honey Love has said this to you. Or maybe it has been such a long while since you have been on a date that the loneliness has kicked in.

There is a melancholy, despondent and sulky feeling in the air. There may be emotional and physical distance. Saturn is tough and he's serious, which can easily bring on the tears or a bout of unhappiness and loneliness for unknown reasons. Venus just wants to be Loved, warm and cuddled up like two (2) cats snuggled in their Love swirl.

Venus conjunct Saturn feels lonely, neglected, abandoned and unLoved. This aspect can show up as pathetic and lonely as the little puppy. You might find it tough to get an answer, a call back, or a door opened for you.

If this aspect shows up in the Natal Chart, there is usually a Love issue from early childhood (Venus, self-worth, 2nd house, 1st quadrant) that poses a problem when it is conjoined with a planet like Saturn.

When it comes to our mother and father, we should feel nothing except Love and security, but that is not how this aspect feels. It feels unLoved and insecure. Saturn puts the squeeze on Venus. As a result, this energy can come across as painfully shy, mousy, introverted and inhibited.

Venus rules our self-worth, morals, values, earned income and personal finances, which translates into our net-worth. So you see, money and Love are very closely related. Maybe you are handing out money or buying the kids something to make them feel better, to make yourself feel better (less guilty).

Saturn is putting the squeeze on Love and maybe putting on squeeze on the finances. There may even be arguments or disagreements about money.

Venus likes to snuggle and play footies and says, "What are you thinking?" and then quickly turns disappointed and sad when the respondent doesn't say what Venus wants to hear. Venus wants the answer to be a romantic statement, "I was thinking about us and how happy we are." But that's not what happens with this aspect.

Remember, this aspect is compounded by the fact that both planets are in Aries and it is Aries (March 8, 2026) who chases Love with excitement and competitiveness. It's over-the-top when Venus is in Aries because it will not take no for an answer. Venus in Aries chooses instead of being chosen.

Since Saturn, the karmic planet is involved, this could bring a reminiscent Love back to the brain or heart. A past Love could reappear just to shake your world or check-in just to see how solid your current relationship really is. Sometimes when old flames reappear they are really just checking to see if 'they' still got it. It's quite possible they are feeling insecure and lonely with no Love interest in the works and need someone to remind them of how hot (Venus) they still are. Sometimes it's not about you at all. I know, that feels sad just typing it, but it's the Truth. Sometimes an old flame is feeling insecure and is just looking for someone to tell them how great they are and perhaps they know they can get that compliment from you. It's also quite possible that you are the one who is contacting the old flame needing that reminder?

Perhaps that reappearing former Love is not about them feeling needy and unLoved at all, and maybe it's not about getting back together, maybe the reappearance was just to show you how far you have come. How 'bout that? Reappearing past Loves is not always the stroke to the ego that you might need or think. It's okay to take the mature, grown-up and wise Saturn approach and keep old flame conversations on the adult level and not get sucked into the teenage flattery.

At the same time, not having reappearing past Loves can show just how 'complete and progressed' you are. You may not need proof or a reminder of what once was or what currently is. Maybe you are fully in the present and not the past.

When these two (2) planets are sitting next to each other, Venus wants to hold hands and cuddle, while Saturn says that kind of energy is making him too hot (temperature wise) and now he's complaining and needs his sweaty palm free from the grip.

Again, Saturn is a cold planet (-288 degrees F) and Venus is a very hot planet (867 degrees F). This in turn makes the energy shy and inhibited where it cannot fully express itself with the one it Loves. We want to get close, but our partner does not. Or maybe our partner wants to get close, but we do not.

This can also show up as a couple where one person is controlling and the other person is reserved and quiet allowing themselves to be easily controlled. Since Saturn is involved, there is an element of parental involvement here (the boss), which does not necessarily mean the father since Saturn is involved, but that is likely choice. This could have been a controlling mother who had a masculine demeanor. This energy is strict, which can make anyone feel inadequate. RATS!

This aspect does have its uses on an artistic level when it comes to sculptors, painters, musicians, composers and song writers.

Since Venus also naturally Taurus (self-worth) and Libra (blind justice), and Saturn rules discipline and responsibility, this can serve you well in the laws of man or in the laws of nature.

Venus conjunct Saturn can also lead one to depression if there are feelings of being unappreciated or unloved. This is a very tough aspect in the Natal Chart, and equally as challenging during the year it shows up in your Solar Return (birthday-to-next-birthday).

Folks, use the awareness of this ratty sad and depressing aspect to bring up your spirits, not bring them down. If you value yourself and each other, then act like it. Poor me syndrome will not fix anything with this aspect, so you may as well make the best of it. And watch the tendency to bring others down, if you are down. Misery does Love company. This aspect can also teach one about compassion for others, if that's what you need to learn this year.
