If you are looking at a Natal Chart that I wrote for you, the SQUARE LINES in the middle of your Chart Wheel will be the color RED.

A square is an aspect that reveals the tension, obstacles and challenges in your Life that reflect the planets involved. A square is a 90° angle (8° orb or less) between two planets. Naturally more than two planets may be involved due to conjunctions that are listed above. Remember, conjunctions are planets that sit side by side. And if you have two planets that are side by side that make a 90° angle to another planet, then that creates 2 squares, one from each 'conjunct' planet to the third (square) planet.

The tension provided by a 'square' certainly influences and stimulates motivation. When I used to treat patients in my former clinic, I would always tell them, "Pain is certainly a Good motivator, isn't it?" They knew something was amiss before they ever came to see me. Due to the lesson that they needed to learn in taking care of themselves, it was necessary for them to wait, feel physical pain and then get professional help. Pain is a call to action and a huge slap in the face that says, "Change is definitely in order since what I was doing just isn't working." The challenge will absolutely make you stronger.

Squares are character builders! And pain is most certainly a Good motivator, whether it is spiritual, physical, emotional, chemical, or mental pain. If there is tension on a rope, would you keep pulling until it broke or ease up on the slack? If you see a shelf that is pulling away from the wall, would you load more on the shelf? Of course, we all know better, yet do it anyway.

It happens in disagreements between two people. The bickering goes back and forth until something is said that cannot be taken back. And then there's the clean-up! The clean-up can be humbling, embarrassing, even sorrowful. Either you choose to learn from it, or not. If not, you do it again and again and again. Squares with regard to relationships can cause you to repeat the same kind of relationship until you learn NOT to go there again. And money? How many times do you have to juggle bills or swim in debt before you learn?

Seriously, how many times do you have to do it?

Squares are powerful and aggressive aspects that give you the drive to succeed and attain your dreams and desires. Think about all of the times that you learned the hard way (hard aspect). Once you accept the challenge, the square becomes a gateway to understanding.

Once you embrace the challenge or obstacle and accept what it is teaching you, then "production" happens. You are producing, creating and manifesting your desires and dreams into physical reality. YIPPEE!!!

Look at the nature of the planets involved, then work that Square!

Just remember -- Every Sun Sign has two Sun Signs on each side of itself that it will square. So just count two Sun Signs forward or two Sun Signs backward and those two signs will be square each other. And interestingly enough, the two signs that square each other will ALWAYS BE OPPOSITE of each other.
