MOON SQUARE SUN
This aspect is a seat of inner tensions. The tension of the square gives us motivation. Squares are dynamic aspects that give us the drive to succeed. What begins as an inner problem is overcome or accepted, and then becomes a door to understanding.
It is important to understand that the Moon rules the home and the family. It also rules the emotions, feelings, sensitivities and moods, while the Sun rules the identity, ego, individuality, power and pride.
For those who have this aspect in their natal chart this tension likely began during childhood because the Sun is masculine and the Moon is feminine, which means there was an issue with the parents. There is something here that was inherited from the parents that is not pleasing or desirable. When this aspect shows up in the sky and affects the rest of us, then it brings up any issues that we might have with our parents. This is what is called 'emotional insecurity'. Anything about our parents should be giving us security, not insecurity. This is just not the case with this aspect. The result we can expect from this aspect is issues with the opposite sex.
