MARS OPPOSING PLUTO
This aspect depicts conflict which, when resolved, results in growth. Oppositions show a tug of war between opposing forces. If they are resolved, then the oppositions become the backbone and strength of the chart.
It is important to understand that Mars is busy, hyper and action-oriented. Mars is assertive, aggressive and competitive, while Pluto is the higher octave of Mars. Pluto rules transformation through destruction, only to end up in reconstruction. Pluto is powerful and behaves like plutonium, where it completely destroys only to rebuild anew. Pluto levels one thing to cause something else to rise up out of the ashes, just like the phoenix-rising arises from the ashes. Pluto destructs in order to reconstruct and there is where the transformation takes place.
Mars and Pluto are two planets that deal very strongly with change. *Side note - Yes, Uranus deals strongly with change as well, but this is different. Pluto is a full-blown transformation (change) and Uranus is change 'as in' something different. So the goal between Mars and Pluto is not only to achieve change, but to make it entirely different and transformed into something else. Because Mars and Pluto are both natural rulers of Scorpio, who carries the motto, "I desire therefore I am" then personal desire is the key motive for change. Mars is more personal and Pluto takes it to a whole other level and affects an entire generation. Read more in my Astrology Aspects eBook - click the graphic below!
