GETTING STARTED WITH FENG SHUI |
When I was first introduced to Feng Shui, I had a consultant come out to my house and look the place over. I had not read anything about the principals of feng shui, so I my understanding had a few holes in it. Needless to say,
when the consultant came to my house and told me where my chi' was congested, I was overwhelmed. I then decided to read several books on feng shui so my understanding would be more complete.
I strongly suggest before a feng shui consultant comes to your home, you know yourself first, decide what it is you like, educate yourself on feng shui and then call a consultant. It is your home, health and happiness, so do your homework! Understand what a bagua is, first. The bagua is a chart that the feng shui consultant will use to define the areas of your home. **Below is a map of the bagua.
FENG SHUI CONSULTANTS
My relationship with my feng shui consultant is like a marriage made in Heaven. Finding a consultant that resonates with you can be as challenging as picking a partner, doctor or insurance agent. My consultant respects my likes and dislikes and works with my emotions as well as my intellect. So take your time, it'll be worth it.
WHAT IS FENG SHUI?
Feng Shui is described as the art and placement of design in the home and office. It is a refined art that teaches you to enhance opportunities and possibilities concerning your well-being. Your well-being includes your health, wealth, fame and reputation, relationships, children and creativity, helpful people, career, knowledge and spirituality, also your past and family. Feng Shui principals state that by altering the layout and orientation of furniture, walls, doors, and openings or clearing unnecessary clutter, you have a greater possibility of changing the energy you attract in these areas or the energy that you exude.
THE 5 ELEMENTS
Feng Shui is based upon a set of theories and relationships and the harmonizing relationships between the "Heavenly" stems are commonly called the five elements. These elements are wood, metal, fire, earth and water.
The aim of feng shui is to enhance harmony and reflect a deep sensitivity with the natural order of life. This ancient Chinese study of the natural environment creates peace and prosperity when planned out by a qualified Feng Shui Consultant.
