Before beginning any bath: Always check with your physician if you are taking medication of any kind. If you have a medical condition such as hypertension, heart disease, diabetes, pregnancy, or if you are under the care and supervision of a doctor, then your doctor MUST BE consulted.
Temperature of Bath:
These baths should be taken at a temperature that is safe and comfortable for you. Baths that are made overly hot and taken for long periods of time have the ability to cause fainting or dizziness, much like a sauna or steam bath. Make sure that you do not overdo a temperature that you can safely and comfortably stand. Always drink several glasses of water during the bath, especially if you have a tendency to take very hot baths.
Allergy Test (Skin Patch Test):
Also, before starting any bath, make for certain that you are NOT allergic to any of the ingredients listed on the package or any other ingredients you may be using. If you aren't sure, using a latex glove and a cotton swab, smear a small amount of the bath salt on the inside of your elbow. Leave uncovered and undisturbed for 48 hours. You may also consult your physician about actions and reactions to such ingredients listed on each individual bath.
Cotton Flannel, preferably enough to cover abdomen or large body area if you choose to make yourself a compress. See herbal preparations here.
Optional materials:
Meditative audio tape or CD
Tape player
Gemstone or crystal
Candles
Ear plugs - (to protect your inner ear from an over-abundance of water)
Snorkel if you choose to meditate underwater. (Make sure you know how to use a snorkel properly.)
Ingredients:
Ingredients of your choice of the bath salts you purchase
*Optional - Unprocessed Apple Cider Vinegar with certain bath salt recipes.
General Instructions:
Allow at least 40 minutes to "enjoy" your bath
Approach the bath with the intention of the bath you are choosing
You may soap and shower before and after the bath if you desire
Entering the bath:
Draw the bath and test the temperature; if it is too hot to submerge your face, readjust the temperature
If a gemstone or crystal is used, place it in the bottom of the tub.
Pour the measured ingredients in the bath
If you desire to add a carrier oil (peanut, walnut, coconut, jojoba, castor oil, etc.) pour in while drawing bath
Mix with a wire whisk so no oil droplets are seen
Do not step in until all ingredients are mixed thoroughly and bath is drawn. The formulas are for a 33 gallon tub full of water
Use extreme caution entering the bath if oils are used or placed on the skin. Make sure a nonslip rug is by the tub to step onto when you leave the tub.
Sit on the edge of the tub and then slide in the tub
Submerge your body in the water leaving your face (mouth, eyes and nose) above the water, yet the top of your head is covered with water. (If needed, use earplugs to protect your inner ear.)
Submerging yourself in this manner will cover all the chakras.
Submerge the head frequently when turning from back to front or from side to side. Keep the head submerged as much as possible, with the face above the water at all times.
If you are taller than your bathtub allows for the above submersion, sit up and soak your legs and feet an extra length of time. Possibly an extra 10 - 20 minutes.
During the bath:
Essential oils are highly effective in helping to release undesired energy or embracing desired energy. Your response may range from very subtle to extremely dramatic.
The most common emotions that arise are anger and fear when releasing undesired energy. The bath is a perfect place to sweat, release the energy and let yourself burst with emotional tears. Even if you aren't clear where the tears are coming from. The release is remarkable.
This is because anger and fear are the most overwhelming and suppressed emotions that we have. Even when calling forth a new Love, there is a certain amount of past limiting beliefs and fear that will be released.
You may experience: anger, anxiety, depression, fear, grief, guilt, shame and sorrow.
You may also experience: joy, sensational relaxation, insight, focus, clarity, intuitive breakthroughs and visits from angels or guides.
Others have reported being visited by Loved ones who have crossed over to God or had a soul contact while being embraced by the Light
If you feel a sense of urgency or panic while in the water, or a feeling overwhelming heat, get out of the bathtub and calm your body. Splash cold water on your face and put a cold washcloth around your neck and forehead. And sit down.
Possible Responses after the bath:
Extreme relaxation or deep sleep
Mild to profuse sweating
More dialogue with yourself
If your personaity is quick and restless, you may experience agitation and restlessness. This is a clear indication that there is a resistance to letting go of control. Celebrate this awareness. The bath is working!
A build-up of emotion may cause you to feel an urgency to get out of the water. The fear may feel too intense and you can try again at another time.
A feeling of weakness could indicate the stress of letting go
Feeling better about your well-being
A new sense of Love, hope and happiness
Increase in intuition, discernment, perception, sensitivity, clarity, etc.,
After the bath:
Take the time to be alone with your thoughts and meditate on the experience
If you have released a lot of suppressed emotion, a typical reaction would be to fall fast asleep that may last 10 - 12 hours and possibly longer. If you suspect that you may release a lot of pent-up emotion, take the bath on a Friday night to give yourself time to recover and have an introspective weekend.
Try not to shower or wash your hair until it is absolutely necessary, keeping the oils on your body as long as possible.
You may see intuition and increased clarity begin to take shape.
The subtle changes may be recognized by others before you begin to notice. Others may view you as more calm, Loving, affectionate, sincere, etc., and when this occurs it is natural that you would be viewed as more attractive.
