For a more enriching experience,
go down on your knees to pray or take it one step further
and prostrate yourself (lay face down) on the floor while praying.
Father, I will admit, there are times when my actions and words do not match. I say one thing and do another and yet I hold others accountable when their actions and words do not match. I realize my irritation could be a way of outing myself. From here on, I am going to do my best to follow up my words with the right action. Instead of pointing a finger at others, I will take note of the three fingers pointing back at me. I will humble myself and own my own mistakes and bad decisions instead of making light of someone else's. And above all, I will continually consider on a daily basis if my words and actions would have Your stamp of approval.
Through Jesus Christ's Precious Blood, Most Sacred Name and Most Holy Face. ~Amen
A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Luke
Luke 14:1-6
1 On a sabbath He went to dine at the home of one of the leading Pharisees, and the people there were observing Him carefully.
2 In front of Him there was a man suffering from dropsy.
3 Jesus spoke to the scholars of the law and Pharisees in reply, asking, "Is it lawful to cure on the sabbath or not?"
4 But they kept silent; so He took the man and after He had healed him, dismissed him.
5 Then He said to them, "Who among you, if your son or ox falls into a cistern, would not immediately pull him out on the sabbath day?"
6 But they were unable to answer His question.
