For a more enriching experience,
go down on your knees to pray or take it one step further
and prostrate yourself (lay face down) on the floor while praying.
Father, my level of patience is lacking and I admit, it could certainly use some improvement. It also shows my level of awareness and understanding of what is going on around me in the moment. The Scripture below drives the point home that I need to be more attentive in cultivating and pruning my own Life before I point a finger at others. So many times I come to You in prayer, mistake after mistake, bad decision after bad decision asking You to be more patient with me as I get my act together one more time. In fact, You are patient with me even when I don't ask for it and even more so when I don't deserve it. So too must I be patient with others as they walk their Spiritual Progression Path ™ trying figure it all out. If I cannot be patient with Your other children who appear in my Life on a daily basis, how do I expect You to be patient with me? It brings to mind how I would react if someone were not patient with my child. That is a hard pill to swallow because here on earth, we are all someone else's child, not to mention we are your all Your children too. From this moment forward, I claim patience through the action of Your Living Spirit within me, in every single thing that I think, say and do.
Through Jesus Christ's Precious Blood, Most Sacred Name and Most Holy Face. ~Amen
A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Luke
Luke 13:1-9
1 At that time some people who were present there told Him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mingled with the blood of their sacrifices.
2 He said to them in reply, "Do you think that because these Galileans suffered in this way they were greater sinners than all other Galileans?
3 By no means! But I tell you, if you do not repent, you will all perish as they did!
4 Or those eighteen people who were killed when the tower at Siloam fell on them --do you think they were more guilty than everyone else who lived in Jerusalem?
5 By no means! But I tell you, if you do not repent, you will all perish as they did!"
6 And He told them this parable: "There once was a person who had a fig tree planted in his orchard, and when he came in search of fruit on it but found none,
7 he said to the gardener, 'For three years now I have come in search of fruit on this fig tree but have found none. (So) cut it down. Why should it exhaust the soil?'
8 He said to him in reply, 'Sir, leave it for this year also, and I shall cultivate the ground around it and fertilize it;
9 it may bear fruit in the future. If not you can cut it down.'"
