Father, today's scriptual reading brings to mind how lax and slouthful I have been in my actions and reactions in some areas of my Life. There are days when I can be so lazy that I don't get to work on time or get my daily regimen started as timely as I should. I don't know why I do this to myself but I do know that if I cannot be ready for my own daily regimen, then how will I ever be ready to meet You when that time comes. I have loosened my belt, I have given into slack and it is time that I turn this approach to Life around once and for all. I need to get ready for Life, for happiness, for Love, for You . . for just about anything wonderful that You want to do or give to me. I haven't been ready to handle what I truly want out of Life because my personal responsibility and self-discipline have been lacking and slacking. This slipshod approach has affected so many areas of my Life and now I come to you desiring to turn it all around. I don't want to be caught off guard for anything in Life, especially caught off guard to meet You when You call me back to Yourself. From this moment forward, I am tightening my belt and taking my Life more 'spiritually' serious and following through on my actions and reactions with a purity of intent that would make You proud that I am indeed Your child.
Through Jesus Christ's Precious Blood, Most Sacred Name and Most Holy Face. ~Amen
A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Luke
Luke 12:35-38
[Jesus said to them . . . ]
35 "Gird your loins and light your lamps
36 and be like servants who await their master's return from a wedding, ready to open immediately when he comes and knocks.
37 Blessed are those servants whom the master finds vigilant on his arrival. Amen, I say to you, he will gird himself, have them recline at table, and proceed to wait on them.
38 And should he come in the second or third watch and find them prepared in this way, blessed are those servants.
