For a more enriching experience,
go down on your knees to pray or take it one step further
and prostrate yourself (lay face down) on the floor while praying.
Father, in reviewing my attitudes and behaviors, there is a need for me to become more humble because in some areas of my Life, I have viewed myself as being better than others. I have put myself on a higher plane or as having higher knowledge, when I know Good and well that we are all walking our Spiritual Progression Path in our own time. I have no right to judge where someone else is on their path; after all, I have struggled on my path and have acted and reacted in some unattractive and unfair ways. We are all Your children and I know that You Love all us just the same no matter what our struggle, judgment or behavior happens to be. I know You Love me and want what is best for me.
I have been guilty of imposing burdens, rules, regulations and guidelines on others that I don't even follow. Even further, I have been guilty of shaming others for offenses that I have committed in the past and in some cases, the recent past. I have been guilty of pointing fingers at others for not doing the right thing, but have not lifted one finger to do the right thing myself. Father, I have been a hypocrit. From now on, I will be more aware of what I support, approve, condemn, deny and consent to and in turn do the right thing that is most pleasing to You.
Through Jesus Christ's Precious Blood, Most Sacred Name and Most Holy Face. ~Amen
A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Luke
Luke 11:37-41
[Jesus said to them . . . ]
42 Woe to you Pharisees! You pay tithes of mint and of rue and of every garden herb, but you pay no attention to judgment and to Love for God. These you should have done, without overlooking the others.
43 Woe to you Pharisees! You Love the seat of honor in synagogues and greetings in marketplaces.
44 Woe to you! You are like unseen graves over which people unknowingly walk."
45 Then one of the scholars of the law said to Him in reply, "Teacher, by saying this You are insulting us too."
46 And He said, "Woe also to you scholars of the law! You impose on people burdens hard to carry, but you yourselves do not lift one finger to touch them."
