and prostrate yourself (lay face down) on the floor while praying.Father, today's reading below reveals to me a strong distinction between family members of the physical DNA type and family members of the Spiritual DNA type. Naturally Jesus is speaking of the larger Faith community and not His blood born kin. This brings to mind those times when one might say, "I Love you like a brother (or sister)" when the individual may not even have a relationship with their brother or sister at all. This makes me think of how I treat and Love those within the circle of my personal Life and how I treat and Love those on the outside of my personal circle. This isn't always the easiest thing to do and can prove to be quite a challenge. Sometimes the tie that binds me to others is anything but Love or kinship. With some individuals I am bound to another through money, career or some other personal reason, when I really should be bound to others by You. If we are all Your children, then aren't we all related through Your Spiritual DNA; therefore, shouldn't we all be treating each other as such and being better spiritual companions? It is a tall order Father and I will do my best to hold this teaching closer to my heart so that it will show up in my actions. Thank You for this fuller awareness of You and Your family.
Through Jesus Christ's Most Precious Blood, Most Sacred Name and Most Holy Face, I thank You for this awareness. Amen~
A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Mark
Mark 3:31-35
31 His mother and His brothers arrived. Standing outside they sent word to Him and called Him.
32 A crowd seated around Him told Him, "Your mother and your brothers (and your sisters) are outside asking for You."
33 But He said to them in reply, "Who are my mother and (my) brothers?"
34 And looking around at those seated in the circle He said, "Here are my mother and my brothers.
35 (For) whoever does the will of God is my brother and sister and mother."
