For a more enriching experience,
go down on your knees to pray or take it one step further
and prostrate yourself (lay face down) on the floor while praying.
Father, I understand there will be times when my spiritual beliefs will be challenged by others and it is up to me to remain comfortable in what I believe regardless of what others think or believe. I seek only Your approval, not that of another human being.
I have to be honest Father, it aggravates me when those who do not have a strong spiritual committment will argue loudly and strongly, which is exactly what they do not want the spiritual or religious person to do. It is a bit hypocritical to say the least. These individuals do the same thing they don't want me to do except on the opposite side of the subject matter, although I do understand it is just another opportunity for me to enlighten them or step it up through my actions and reactions, even if my words do not sink in.
Further, I find it interesting that some individuals will quote Einstein or other famed scientists, Martin Luther King, Jr., the Dalai Lama, Indian Proverbs, celebrities, authors, comedians or any book by a spiritual teacher but quote Your Son Jesus or the Holy Scriptures and suddenly it is taboo or prostelytizing. But if arguing one's point or belief at any given time is to induce someone to convert to one's belief or to recruit someone to join 'any cause', then aren't we all prostelytizing on some level? This awareness helps me to continue to stand in my strong spiritual comittment and connection with You. Not only because it feels great but because I can't help but share You and the gift of Your Son with others. How would I or could I hold back and keep that to myself? After all, when we know something wonderful or something wonderful happens to us, the first thing we do is tell others. Why wouldn't I want to tell others about You and Your Son Jesus, the Christ? Thank You for making my awareness bolder.
Through Jesus Christ's Precious Blood, Most Sacred Name and Most Holy Face. ~Amen
A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Matthew
Matthew 10:17-22
[Jesus said to them . . . ]
17 "But beware of people, for they will hand you over to courts and scourge you in their synagogues,
18 and you will be led before governors and kings for My sake as a witness before them and the pagans.
19 When they hand you over, do not worry about how you are to speak or what you are to say. You will be given at that moment what you are to say.
20 For it will not be you who speak but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.
21 Brother will hand over brother to death, and the father his child; children will rise up against parents and have them put to death.
22 You will be hated by all because of My Name, but whoever endures to the end will be saved."
