SUN OPPOSING JUPITER
This aspect depicts conflict which, when resolved, results in growth. Oppositions show a tug of war between opposing forces. If they are resolved, then the oppositions become the backbone and strength of the chart.
It is important to understand that the Sun rules masculine energy, the identity, ego, individuality, power and pride, while Jupiter is happy-go-lucky and optimistic. The Moon is emotional, while Jupiter is lucky, adventurous and abundant. Jupiter is very benevolent, generous and philanthropic. Jupiter rules religion and higher education.
This aspect often over-promises. It bites off more than it can chew simply out of excitement and optimism. You could just take Life, things, stuff or food in smaller bites. You could take-in more information in smaller bytes. All the same perhaps just regrouping, slowing down and getting your arms around something is the best approach. And so it goes with anything in Life that is hard to manage or get your arms around, take it in smaller bites/bytes.
The Sun opposing Jupiter says, "Oh well, no harm, no foul." Too many promises can hurt one's reputation because even a little can be a little too late. Words need to be followed through with action, otherwise it could prove to just be lip service.
The Sun opposing Jupiter always reminds me of taking pain medication. If you wait too long to take a pain reliever, the pain can get out of control and it becomes harder to manage. But when you feel the 'prodrome', meaning the early symptom and head pain off at the pass, then it is much easier to manage. You have to get your arms around pain at the onset, not while you are spiraling into hell.
This aspect thinks BIG, way TOO BIG, and makes promises that it can't keep. Gosh, we all do it. I'm gonna do this and I'm gonna do that and then crickets. We don't like it when it is done to us, but then we do it to others. Let's not act like we don't.
This aspect will cause you to over-promise. This can be detrimental to someone who never delivers or under-delivers. So where did you promise and not deliver? You said you would and you didn't. There is a let-down (or disappointment) when you over-promise and you aren't fooling anyone. If you bite off more than you can chew, it's pretty obvious. You know why it's obvious? Because you aren't delivering on what you said. That's a pretty easy indicator. Say what you want, make your excuse, but whatever you promised you left last on your list because it was not as important to you as everything else.
Over-promising is a big ol' nothing and is not attractive or impressive, especially if you deliver NOTHING. "OUCHY! MOM MAKE HER STOP!" It's even worse if you make it a habit, which means now you aren't even thinking about it anymore, it just becomes rote, which is a mechanical and habitually repetitive.
