MERCURY SQUARE SATURN
This aspect is a seat of inner tensions. The tension of the square gives us motivation. Squares are dynamic aspects that give us the drive to succeed. What begins as an inner problem is overcome or accepted, and then becomes a door to understanding.
It is important to understand that Mercury rules the reasoning and conscious mind that forms conclusions. Mercury is intellectual, enjoys learning, teaches and is communicative. Saturn rules stability and responsibility. It is also disciplined and cautious. Saturn rules the father, limitations and authority figures.
This is the classic placement for the narrow-minded individual. Think about the word 'narrow-minded' because the individual affected by this aspect will have extremely limited views. Once you understand this about that individual, then you will understand that their field of thought can only stretch so far. You will also see this aspect in individuals who have a strict adherance to the law because they go by letter of the law. They demand order at all costs and there is no room for negotiating on it. Their self-discipline is very strict, which they will also hold others to the same level of strictness and discipline.
This is a tough aspect for communication where your words will probably not move the needle one inch. Talking to a close-minded person is absolutely boring. If there is no more to learn, question, entertain or ponder, what could you possibly discuss and enjoy?
Folks, there comes a time in Life where you really do have to stop talking and let some people figure some things out for themselves. Certainly people know what they know, from who they know, from where they know, and how they have come to know, but that doesn't mean they know. While there is some Truth in experience and education, it just doesn't cover all of the bases.
Even in Astrology, nothing is 100 percent. It's like Algebra, there are exceptions to the rules. ALWAYS! Remember the mnemonic phrase, 'i' before 'e' except after c? You know words like - believe, ceiling, receive. It can be maddening, but again nothing is 100 percent, except God, everything else has exceptions to the rules.
Even in Astrology we (should) use 70/30 rule. 70 percent of the time it follows 'the pattern', the other 30 percent of the time it doesn't and there is a reason why. For your education and self-study you look for that 30 percent reason why it did not follow the pattern in the chart. And there is always a reason why the pattern deviated. Perhaps you needed to pick up some experience and knowledge through another route regarding something else. Challenges, issues and problems are really what put us on a different path, which turns out to be the path that we are currently on.
Relationship charting (I think) is the absolute easiest in Astrology, AND IT WORKS, but the people make it so dang hard. The people tend to press toward something that is not working, trying to master what is not meant to be. If they just followed 'the rules', it wouldn't be so difficult.
Think of the individual who doesn't like a certain Sun Sign because their 'former' was that Sun Sign thereby making all people of that Sun Sign their enemy, wrong or bad. That's nuts! Our chart holds the key to who and why we pick the people that we do 'at the time'.
This Mercury square Saturn is a "yeah butter". You know the type, no matter what you say, they will "yeah but" this and "yeah but" that. Not in a debate learning manner, the yeah butting is in a refusal to budge, acknowledge or entertain other possibilities. "Yeah butters" are impossible to communicate with and boring as heck. You could talk a hole through their head and all you will have gained is frustration and lost a lot of time. Let them see for themselves.
Mercury square Saturn will always remind me of Covid, the lockdowns, the shutdowns, the outcasting, the exclusions, the banishments, the uninvited, the left out - where we saw posts and pressure from those basically claiming 'know-it-all' status due to their work and educational status. The ol' . . . "I'm a nurse or I'm a doctor" . . . when come to find out, the medical community didn't know anything. They knew what they were told to say. Even the CDC and NIH had to backpeddle. I won't go into all of that because we some of us knew years ago because we listened and paid attention, that Ivermectin and Fenbendazole really did work. And they still work.
If you received an 'Ah-ha' from this write-up, please consider supporting my 'original content' and buying ME a coffee. You might say, "One awakening (horoscope) for another awakening (coffee)". What a wonderful exchange of chi' and express gratitude.
