MERCURY OPPOSING URANUS

This aspect depicts conflict which, when resolved, results in growth. Oppositions show a tug of war between opposing forces. If they are resolved, then the oppositions become the backbone and strength of the chart.

It is important to understand that Mercury rules the reasoning and conscious mind that forms conclusions. Mercury is intellectual, it is the thinker, while Uranus is the planet of a sudden change in circumstance, much like a lightning strike. Uranus also represents innovation, invention and independence. It literally strikes out and strikes out on its own, like lightning. Uranus is unconventional and electrifying; thereby bringing about sudden change in an instant, which can show up as being erratic. You can pretty much expect the unexpected when Uranus is involved

You have a tendency to thrust your own original thoughts and ideas onto other people. That's all well and Good but it can be too forceful and too opinionated where you don't consider what the other person has to offer.

This aspect willfully defends the right to have different views and can fail to appreciate other people's points of view. Learn to respect all forms of communication and thinking. In other words, there is a tendency to ask someone's opinion and then brush off what they said not giving it any weight.

Mercury opposing Uranus says, "Talk to da' hand" in other words, "You ain't the boss of me, don't tell me what to do or think!" This aspect has forceful opinions, but you can also reach the breaking point where you say, "Enough is enough!"

I am a BIG believer in confronting situations and not backing down. Confrontation does not necessarily mean getting in someone's face, arguing, yelling, screaming, rolling heads, pointing fingers and snappin' Z's. Confronting is facing something. It can also mean facing yourself. In other words, stop kidding yourself. The way problems mount, grow, fester or flourish, is by not addressing them when they first rear their ugly head.

I live a confrontational Life. I see being a confrontational person as being more as courageous and able to face what is in front of me. I'm a whack-a-mole type of gal. It's just my nature. I would be too afraid to let things get out of hand or to run from a problem. I would much rather confront than cower. Confront rather than be silenced. Confront rather than run scared. Confront rather than be disregarded. Confront and let's get this 'thing' over with right here right now. Stand in the fire with me and let's face this thing and solve it. I can't run scared by whole Life. Let's do this now! That's me. The problem is people have turned to ghosts and learned how to ghost each other rather than confront. That is really really bad communication (Mercury), which is not communicating at all.

This aspect of "Talk to da' hand" that doesn't want to hear it. It can't. It's rebellious in its own nature because if this 'hand' gets corrected, then that would mean 'the hand' was wrong. And who wants to be wrong? Who wants to admit being wrong? This aspect cannot handle being corrected. So it rebels and hears NOTHING! Well that's progressive and helpful. NOT!

This aspect may also make too quick of decisions, too speedy on assumptions and too fast on decisions, which can lead to some BIG mistakes. Slow it down, take it easy, think (Mercury) before you act (Uranus).

Talking to the hand doesn't mean it is confronting, handling, solving or fixing anything. It's a big non-contributing zero. It's a stall, a statemate and a stonewall. There is no courage in it. OUCH! MOM MAKE HER STOP!

Mercury opposing Uranus may show up for you as running into a brick wall where you simply cannot or will not get your way because the Universe (God) is saying, "I don't want to hear it. Ain't happenin' kiddo! You better change that attitude!" Maybe the hand is a brick wall that stops you in your tracks until you get a clue or make a better decision.

This aspect has a habit of loading its chatter on others. If others don't want to hear it. Then stop talking to the hand. Don't you have better things to do? If someone is putting up their hand or attitude, then won't they find out (the hard way) how important it really was if you simply stop talking, texting, emailing, or calling? Let them find out!

It's a different style of confronting something without uttering one word when you just stop. It's an action that isn't just chicken-style-ghosting. They basically said, "Stop I dont want to hear it", so okay, stop. I'm talking about more deliberate action rather than just pulling a disappearing act.

Folks, sometimes people have to find out, the way they need to find out. You did what you can do. This is a different style of confronting without uttering one word. Or you can simply say, "Okay". I use the word "Okay" a lot when I'm done. Just simply, "Okay". It's incredible what that one word will do. It can actually build curiosity in the other person and then they attempt to explain themselves or now they are ready to engage in conversation when you are ready to stop. Okay? People are so funny.

Mercury opposing Uranus is also the aspect of 'the dev,i-ls advocate'. Who the heck wants to be the dev,i-ls advocate? Think about that statment. Well, this aspect can take that position just to be difficult. Just for the sake of argument, debate or just not wanting to agree. Talk to the hand can be seen as chicken-style-ghosting, which is different than a disappearing act.

You can defend your views without being mean, but understand others are trying to do the same. Words can get hard, tough when attempting to make a point, words can get downright mean, and then you have to wade through hurt feelings because words were taken personally, as insults, so if you need to pull back and regroup, then do that.

What I find interesting is people (adults) taking these words seriously. They take them personal. Name calling wouldn't hurt a bit if one didn't think there were some Truth in it. Otherwise, on to the next controversy.

This aspect also has a tendency to ask someone's opinion and then brush off what they said not giving it any weight. THEN DON'T OPEN THAT CAN OF WORMS! I know, it can maddening. Talk about wasted time.

Folks, if you are giving advice, find a way to make certain the individual hears the advice because you will likely be talking to a "Yeah but" person. Whatever you say, they say, "Yeah but . . ." In fact, whatever you say might just go in one ear and out the other. What a waste of air time!!

This aspect is blunt and tactless, even so the information may still not register. This is where you have to say, "Okay" and let them find out the hard way. All sides will not be seen right now. Don't hold your breath, save your breath for a better time to say, "Honey we need to talk" because that time is not when this aspect shows up.
