MERCURY CONJUNCT VENUS
A conjunction or conjunct symbol is an aspect that emphasizes and brings together the energies of the planets involved. Conjunctions focus and intensify the energy much like a laser beam on an exact point in your chart. These planets have their own uniqueness and when tag-teamed their energy is intensified even more.
It is important to understand that Mercury rules the reasoning and conscious mind that forms conclusions. Mercury is a communicator, traveler, salesperson and an intellectual, while the Venus rules Love, beauty and relationships. Venus is aesthetic, artistic, harmonious and is definitely not looking for a fight.
This is a very friendly aspect, which brings out the best in people. This aspect expresses itself in a loving manner and enjoys talking with people. In response others will find you a warm and welcoming listener. In fact, they may walk away from you saying to themselves, "(Insert name) is so nice. I really like him/her." So you see, this is a great aspect to make a first impression.
Mercury conjunct Venus is so nice and slick with words, it can sell anything to anyone, and cause someone else to eat their own words and then say, "Thank you for causing me to eat my own words."
This aspect is accompanied by sweet talk that might sound like, "Hey, how are you? You look so nice today." Mercury conjunct Venus is very kind, sweet and nice, but with this collection of energy, the next sentence can easily be, "Can I borrow some money? Can I use your car? Can you watch the kids?" Oh there's that butta, buttering up someone.
Mercury conjunct Venus is a very friendly aspect, which brings out the best in people. Well thank God, huh? This aspect is a Good listener as it is fully present in a conversation. You know how sometimes you can be thinking of what you will say next before the other person is finished talking? Well, this aspect does not do that. It listens and enjoys being in the conversation 'nicely'. This does not mean you agree, it means you are listening nicely and speaking kindly.
This aspect also lends grace in speech and writing skills. It's a great time to sit down and have that conversation or write that e-mail or note that you hope will help someone else understand you better. This aspect also has upgraded phone (communication) skills. It's a great time to say, "Honey we need to talk."
If you write, produce or play music, this is the time to make that recording. Get it down on paper or audio. Hum a few bars into a recorder to that you do not lose that moment of creativity. Send yourself a text, hit the record app, or make notes in your Notes App.
There is also a knack for negotiation or mediating because Venus rules the 2nd house of personal finances and the 7th house of committed relationships and/or partnerships. It's a great time to re-negotiate.
Call any lending institution or credit card company and renegotiate your interest rate(s), as well as calling your insurance company, phone and television providers for a better deal. Do it under this aspect. And be nice. Flattery will get you everywhere. Why? Because people are so incredibly vain, they can be easily manipulated with kind words. It will give you a chance to practice kindness and see how you can use it and how it is used on or against you. I didn't really want to write most of this last paragraph but you should know how this aspect can and will operate.
