Is it Ur-ran-us or Ur-anus? Actually, both are acceptable pronounciations, but I say Ur-ran-us simply because Ur-anus sounds gross.

Uranus in Taurus - May 15, 2018 until April 25, 2026. As you can see from one of the Astro Meme's below, Uranus will Retrograde (Rx) every single year for about five (5) months. Uranus in Taurus 2023 retrogrades on August 28, 2023 until January 27, 2024.

The best way to remember a Retrograde is that any 'planet in a sign' moves over a set of degrees, one degree at a time. Then when it retrogrades it moves backward over those same degrees, which is the second time over that same set of degrees. This period of time we can see as a 'do over'. We are getting a second chance to get something right or do it over before progressing forward. Then the 'planet in a sign' moves direct (forward) in degrees again moving over that same set of degrees a third time, giving you yet another chance to seal the deal and get it right before progressing forward. Retrogrades are do-over's. Take that into account as you read the rest.

Notice how we are in the 'woke' culture. Well, Uranus is THE GREAT AWAKENER. It's not a coincidence folks! Wake-up is a real thing. Who knew? Uhhh, the astro community?

Uranus will turn Retrograde this year on August 28, 2023 until January 27, 2024. Look at those dates will ya'. Hmmmmm. Are you thinking what I'm thinking? Uranus likes to shakes things up like a milkshake. And in the sign of Taurus, that's an earth sign. Sounds like the ground is beginning to rumble like a stampede of cows or worse . . bulls! MOOOO-OVE! IT'S DEFINITELY A SHAKE-UP! No doubt we have all seen the stampede of people on the tarmac and in the streets of Afghanistan. Perfect example of Uranus in Taurus and what it looks like with the people. And did you know Uranus rules airplanes and the Air Force? It sure does.

Well let's see Uranus, that oddball planet that spins on its side and it is turning Retrograde (Rx) on August 28, 2023 for the 6th time (out of 8) in its transit through Taurus. So now we turn backward in time to get a second helping of what we just learned. RATS! Hey folks, sometimes it takes a while to learn something and get it through our thick skull. Cattle actually do have thick skulls. And our thick skulls right now don't want to be wrong. The human thinks if we were proven to be wrong, then what else would people think we were wrong about. And with Uranus in the fixed sign of Taurus, which is NOT budging, also the sign of the hard head aka stubborn .... then some lessons will come a bit harder, stronger and longer just because we spent too much time on being stubborn not wanting to be wrong, so it'll cost ya'. Uranus is known in the astrological community as The Great Awakener, The Rebel Rouser, The Tilted Planet.

The Uranus glyph represents the cross of matter confined at both sides where matter is being forced up from the bottom circle of spirit. Wherever Uranus shows up, it will force change in your Life. Let's look at the graphic below and think about that first line again because it is important.

Notice the cross in the middle. The cross of matter. Matter is that which is physical substance, which is different from the mind and spirit. Matter is being confined from both sides pressing on it, almost like it is being squeezed, as if two walls were coming closer together and closing in on 'matter' thereby confining the space of matter. It's almost as if 'the matter' is being squeezed out or erased.

Often times Uranus will give you the feeling of being squeezed out or erased from something only to squirt you into a different direction. Sometimes being squeezed out is exactly what you need. As the squeeze continues, our spirit from the bottom circle will reveal what we are made of and we begin pushing up on 'matter'. It's just like squeezing toothpaste out of a tube. The spirit (our spirit) engages, pushes on matter and shows us just what we are made of and what we can do with our lives. I LOVE THIS GLYPH!

Did you know that Uranus is the ruler of Aquarius? Uranus was only discovered in 1781, so if Uranus is the ruler of Aquarius, what ruled Aquarius before 1781 because we know Astrology has been around practically forever! Saturn is the ancient ruler of Aquarius, while Uranus is the modern day ruler of Aquarius. And did you know that Uranus is the father of Saturn, while Saturn is the father of Jupiter. That's a little Greek and Roman mythology for ya'. Uranus is also the only planet named after a Greek god instead of a Roman god, like Saturn and Jupiter. So, contrary to popular belief, Uranus was not named after Uranium. It was Uranium that was named after Uranus.

Let's trek back for a brief moment and contemplate what occurred over the past eight (8) years in our Life where we felt this squeeze on ourselves. Uranus was in the sign of Aries, which is the sign of the self, me, myself and I. Where is Aries in your natal chart and over the past year eight (8) while Uranus was in Aries, did you get the feeling that you were being squeezed out and into another direction? Was there a feeling of being erased only to come out at the other end different or new or complete or emptied or changed? Well, Uranus LOVES to change things, because change is Uranus's jam. Uranus spins things and whips them into a NEW AND IMPROVED state of matter. Anytime you see 'New and Improved' on a new product or service, THINK URANUS WAS HERE! Look, even the glyph for Uranus looks like a 'top' spinning. For the younger generation, a 'top' was a toy that children would spin.

When you are feeling the squeeze of Uranus, it is trying to get your spirit to get a move on and to take some physical action. URANUS IS ALL ABOUT MOVING PHYSICAL MATTER! What's the matter? Are you not moving your ASS? No wonder Ur-anus has a little ass in it! LOL! Some of us work better under pressure, with the feeling of two confining walls pressing in on us, to squeeze something really wonderful out of us. This is what Uranus does and will do, only now it is doing it under the sign of Taurus.

Remember again what the squeezing effects of Uranus in Aries did FOR YOU. It should be 'for you' and not 'to you'. Uranus in Aries brought a me, me, me, look at yourself type of energy to your world. You had to get squeezed out to get a clue about your own Life. That initial pop of dry toothpaste can make a mess, but after that, the toothpaste begins to flow freely. That is what Uranus does to us. Now Uranus moves into Taurus and your self-worth, value system and how you define 'worth and 'self-worth' in your Life is getting squeezed. This is not like Saturn putting the squeeze on you to limit, restrict or withhold because you need discipline or need to learn responsibility and maturity. This is about your Goodness get squeezed out. So we will all experience this squeezing up and out of ourselves as the walls push in on us and the cream of us rises to the top.

I believe we are all going to see some massive shifts in our personal finances. You will probably hear or read about some scary things Uranus in Taurus could do, especially since the last time Uranus was in Taurus was during The Great Depression. History is not going to repeat itself because we have learned so much since then. This is not going to be anything like The Great Depression, although those occupying the White House will do their best to take us in that direction.

Some of you may not want to hear this, but when President Trump said, "You are going to get tired of winning" some people may be feeling a bit of regret because that is exactly what was happening. The U.S. was winning at every turn. Now the tables have to be turned in order for the masses to appreciate a Good thing when it is happening to them. Isn't that the way Life is, we have to go without in order to appreciate what we had. How do you like those gas prices now?

Certainly some people will get squeezed and it won't feel Good, which will probably be those who gained their riches through dishonest means, but it is still going to be wonderful in the long run for the majority of people. The tide is turning folks. I know I need to create a 'Transiting Degree Calendar for Uranus in Taurus' so that you can follow these degrees as they occur as they transit your natal chart. Make certain you look to your natal chart to see where Uranus in Taurus will trine your Capricorn and Virgo planets because Taurus is an earth sign, so it will trine the earth Sun Signs of Capricorn and Virgo. Uranus in Taurus will also sextile Pisces and Cancer, which is wonderful energy like a trine, but to a lesser octave.

It's quite possible that money is going to look different. I don't know what that means but Uranus brings unexpected, sudden and strange changes that we just can't predict. But we can predict whatever it is will be 'unpredictable'. There may be a whole NEW 'gold standard'. Make certain you Google what 'gold standard' means so you can wrap your brain around the shape of things to come.

I think about how money has been used, abused, earned and unearned. I'm going to have to come back and add to this because my head is rolling in possibility. It's almost like the tables are going to completely turn and the rich will lose and those of lesser means will be rising up. The tables have turned. Is there going to be a new element that is worth more than gold? What will silver be worth? Everything is up for grabs in possibility here. Taurus rules the color gold and the element of gold.

Uranus (the tilted planet) is the higher octave of Mercury, and both have their place in the weather. While Mercury rules the wind, Uranus rules strong winds. Uranus essentially brings Life to the wind. In fact, in Greek mythology Uranus personifies the sky and gives it a human nature (Mother Nature). When we hear the rumblings of thunder that's one thing, but hearing and seeing lightning strike, then we suddenly get the idea that it just got real. Uranus personifies the sky! Something is definitely goin' down.

It could quite possibly be buildings 'of all kinds' as Taurus is an earth sign. Strong winds turn tornadic and buzz right over the landscape (earth) thereby creating a sudden change in circumstance on land. Uranus is the planet of sudden change. Folks, this isn't climate change, IT'S URANUS IN TAURUS. Uranus is the planet of tremors, undercurrents, tornadoes, torsion, twisting, untimely, whirlpools, voltage, uprooting, strong winds, turbines, the unexpected, strange happenings, surprises out of nowhere, seismology, volcanoes, quakes, earthquakes, cyclones, detours, destruction, rotation . . do you get the picture? During Uranus in Aries we saw fires (lots of them), even as Uranus retrograded back into Aries we saw the state of California go up in flames. During Uranus in Pisces we saw a massive amount of hurricanes and tsunami's. Now, it's land being hit by strong winds above the earth and land being impacted by rumblings beneath the earth. Volcanoes, tornadoes, earthquakes and volcanoes.

This might sound hokey, smokey and just plain out-of-this-world, but that's Uranus, the oddball planet that acts and reacts out-of-this-world, but when you see the contrails (condensation trails) from airplanes, make a log and write it down. And then write down any change in weather patterns. See if there is a pattern. I'm going to do this as this was just posed to me the other day. I thought "interesting this sounds like it could relate to Uranus in Taurus." I will not go so far to say I believe that contrails and the weather are related, but I am a North Node Virgo and we NNV's are directed to take what we learn into the lab and do the experiment.

Think about how Uranus likes to shake, rattle and roll, spinning like a top and wobbling on to its side, whatever it comes in contact with and then we get to see what falls out. Being that Uranus is closing in on the earth sign Taurus, we are already seeing the earth shake. I think it's pretty obvious we will see the ground shaking more like the volcano in Hawaii, which occurred within days of Uranus entering Taurus in 2018, for the brief period of time that it did before it retrograded back into Aries creating more wild fires. I do not believe that volanco to be coincidental as Uranus in Taurus was only a few days away when the volcanco began rumbling and shooting lava (earth) into the air.

We will likely see earthquakes as well with Uranus in Taurus. During the Uranus in Aries transit we saw a lot of wildfires as Aries is a fire sign. Remember, Mercury rules the weather and Uranus is the higher octave of Mercury. Simply put, this takes wind to a higher octave, meaning strong winds. So weather-wise, this is going to be an interesting time as we see weather change its taste in catastrophes. Remember the Tsunami in Indonesia in 2004 and Hurricane Katrina in 2005? That was when Uranus was in Pisces, a water sign, which rules the Ocean. I don't need to name every weather catastrophe during these Uranus transits because I'm sure you get the picture. Nothing stays the same once Uranus has its way with it. Just like our personal financial situation, Uranus will have its way with it in order shake loose what no longer needs to be there. This is why Uranus is known as 'The Great Awakener'.

Uranus is known for being a very 'unique' planet and for calling our attention to that which is 'unusual'. Uranus has a very 'strange' look about it if you notice from the graphic at the top of the page. This probably has a lot to do with the fact that Uranus is also known as 'The Tilted Planet' because it rotates on its side. How unusual is that? So if Uranus is on its side, are Uranus's North and South pole really North and South or East and West? Uranus on its sides presents both of its poles to the Sun at the same time. This means both hemispheres on one side are bathed in light by the Sun, while the other side has both hemispheres bathed in total darkness. It's wild! Unusual to say the least. Sure, most planets are tilted 'a bit' but not like Uranus. It is literally on its side. I bet you won't forget how unusual Uranus is now, will you? [Keep reading . . . ]

Since Uranus naturally rules Aquarius, which is the natural ruler of groups and masses, then it stands to reason that Uranus governs societies, it rules governing boards, meaning those who sit and make decisions for and about others (eeeek), denominations, memberships, clubs, organizations and any group based on humanitarian or progressive ideals.

Uranus, being the ruler of electricity, is also the planet of sudden and unexpected changes (like lightning). Socially speaking, Uranus rules radical ideas and the people who have those radical ideas, as well as any revolutionary events that upset the establishment.

Back in 1781 when Uranus was discovered, this was time period of the Romantic movement, which had everything to do with artistic, literary, musical and intellectual thoughts, talents, skills and interests.

The Romantic movement also emphasized freedom of expression, individuality and creativity. No one likes there freedom quite like Uranus. "Don't tell me what to be or how to spin! I'm my own planet!" says Uranus. And so it goes with humans who have a strong Uranus or Aquarius placement. ME! I have a strong, "Don't tell me what to f'ing do because I'll do that and then some that will make your take on freedom look like you sitting in a cage!"

Uranus is also the planet of innovations, inventions and inventors. Out of The Great Depression came several great inventions such as; the electric razor, the car radio, the tampon, the chocolate chip cookie, the first copy machine, the first supermarket and the board game 'Monopoly'. Can you imagine, sitting around during those days and thinking up this game? This is the kind of energy that Uranus brings. My parents both have Uranus in Taurus in their natal charts, imagine all of the inventions and innovations that this generation of people has seen over the course of their lifetimes. It is truly astonishing!

Now that you understand why Uranus is so unique, unusual and strange, and the time period in history when Uranus was discovered, then maybe now it will be easier to turn your thoughts inward and think about how Uranus impacts you personally. It is also important to note that Uranus is a 'generational planet' meaning due to its long orbit around the Sun (7 to 8 years) it affects an entire generation of people. Uranus isn't like one of the personal planets, like the Moon, Sun, Mercury, Venus and Mars that are closest to the earth and affect us the most and most often. Generational planets affect us over a long period of time and as a huge group of people.

Since Uranus is one of the 'outer planets' then think of the outer planets as affecting us from the outside in, not the inside out. In other words, circumstances externally are affecting us internally, rather than something like our emotions (internal) impacting our reactions (external environment). You will have to learn how to roll with the changes and the quicker you learn to do this, the easier this transit is going to be. It is going to be particularly difficult for those who refuse to budge. As a fixed sign (Taurus) this sign is going to have to learn how to change without having to result to being poked with a stick in order to make it stampede, but alas, most of the time, that is exactly what it takes in order to get Taurus to moooooooooo-ve.

The house that Uranus occupies in your Natal Chart or Solar Return is where these characteristics will manifest the most. Look to your charts and pull out this Uranus gift of "Gee that's strange!" If something shows up in your Life as odd, unique, unusual or strange, then that's probably Uranus trying to give you a message.
