Mercury in Taurus square Saturn in Aquarius at exactly 1:28 PM EDT where it began in applying degrees on April 24, 2020, it is exact today, and will last in separating degrees until May 2, 2020.

The BIG NEWS today is Mercury squares Saturn, which is the mark of the narrow-minded. Imagine Saturn taking off his belt, wrapping it around the brain and pulling that belt tight. Mercury rules the brain. Nothing gets in and nothing really gets out. The brain is locked in place unable to grow, think or contribute, except of course only that which is already in the head. Nothing more, nothing less. In other words, the brain is limited to right where it is. It makes me wonder, why an individual would need to be held in such a holding pattern. Maybe, just maybe, they are not permitted to go further in their mind without first considering or thinking about other things first. Maybe they need to get their brain wrapped around something else before they can progress forward. So all brains, eh hem, I mean birth dates between April 24th and May 2nd will be stuck in this narrow-minded holding pattern for an entire year. Now we have all probably been there with our Solar Return in one year or another, so have a little hindsight and understanding for those who are stuck in this aspect.

I still can't help but wonder . . . why? See this is how I think with Astrology. I'm a Gemini, ruled by Mercury, and things have to make sense to me. Maybe the contribution with an aspect like this is that someone has to hold space when others take aspects like the Sun conjunct Uranus out into the ethers and sh-- gets scary with all the things they are thinking. Also, those with this aspect in their chart will hold the letter to the law. They will not slide away from the rules, regulations, guidelines and bullet points. This is what it says and this is what we do!

So while we are all dealing with narrow-minded people in our lives, and we can be that way too, let's dial it down a bit and sit in the moment of why they or you have to hold space like that. There has to be a logical reason. Mercury is logical and rational, and as a Gemini, I want to know what that reason is. So I type outloud my thoughts in these horoscopes. Cool huh?

Let's also note that Mercury not only rules Gemini, Mercury rules the detailed, analytical and methodical Virgo. While details are important, this aspect will have everyone looking at details that are just flat out unimportant. Details that don't matter will be pointed out, which results in getting stuck. But why? Arrrgghhhh! Do we all need to be slowed down by the individual pointing out something that doesn't even matter, so that something else does or doesn't occur?

The really unattractive thing about this aspect is that it is the mental bully. Usually the person with this in their natal chart will have either suffered from mental abuse or they were disciplined (military-like) in an abusive manner in order to imbed this approved way of thinking. Unless this is the case, then we are back to why are they in this mental holding pattern? What purpose does it serve. arrghh! LOL!
