While writing this, I remembered that I wanted the thicker 'theater grade black out curtain panels' for the great room (aka living room) like we have in the kitchen (from floor to ceiling). The Sun blasts through the bay window the first half of the day and causes the air conditioner to run-on. Once I put the super thick drapes up, the air conditioner did not need to kick on as much. The same will hold True for the furnace. So I literally stopped writing just now and ordered the drapes. They are so thick that it literally changes the temperature in the house and conserves. THAT'S HOW energy efficient they are! When (not if) things go to hell in a handbasket in the winter months, this is just one more way to keep the house energy efficient and cozy as a nuzzling cats.
