The Moon square Neptune is our only aspect today, which is enough in and of itself. This aspect is prone to heavy moods and bouts of depression. Often times this aspect will leave you without a grip on reality and often times sinking further and further into fantasy and imagination. In other words, this aspect runs away with the imagination. If you can literally picture a spider web and visualize it loaded with emotions, that is what a web of emotions looks like. If you are mature enough, then through time you have probably learned how to pull out the softer side of yourself so that you can channel your emotions constructively, rather than destructively.

This aspect can leave you so confused that you have trouble separating fact from fiction. The loss on reality is so great that depression sets in and everything around you becomes disorganized, out of order and downright dirty. The clean watery elements become more like a cesspool of emotion. This is where the escapist tendencies come into play. You become so overwhelmed with emotion, confusion and disorder that you want to get away from it all, which in typical fashion would mean you would turn to drugs, alcohol or food. The best choice of course would be to channel the energy into a creative or artistic pursuit since Neptune is incredibly spiritual and artsy. While writing this I became curious about Vincent VanGogh wondering if he lost touch with reality and then whacked off his ear and sure enough, Vincent VanGogh had his Moon squaring Neptune and struggled with mental illness.

Reality vs. Imagination is a real problem with this aspect as you try to meld your emotional view with the physical world. When this aspect shows up in the natal chart, then you are likely to have some sort of mental illness or distortion with reality. When this aspect shows up as a transit and influences the population at large for one day, it makes everyone seem as though they have lost their marbles for the day.

This aspect can also make you escape your responsibilities at work or home because you just don't want to 'deal with it'. You are not rejected by others, as much as they reject others.

This square does have psychic and mediumistic tendencies. If you can use these gifts to self-examine yourself intellectually, rather than emotionally, then you can lead a healthy and productive life without harm to yourself or to others through your own self-undoing.

There is a nice charm to this aspect where you can get just about anyone to help you out, which could easily make others the 'enablers'.
