Today the Moon is still in Gemini taking us through an interesting collection of aspects (energies). Remember, 'aspects are angles' created when two (2) planets are in a perfect alignment and create a connection. Good, bad or indifferent, there is a connection. It's like two (2) people looking across a crowded room and being able to get a clear vision of each other. They see each other and lock eyes. They might feel attraction, repulsion, wonderment, sexual chemistry, insecurity, deviant behavior, friendliness, etc. They might even be mortified seeing each other there. In any case, when that bee-line connection is made between the two (2) planets we will act and react to that energy in the houses where these energies touch us.

Since the Moon in Gemini is present, then you would look to see which house Gemini shows up in your chart. The first aspect shows us the Moon in Gemini is opposing Venus in Sagittarius. Wherever Gemini is, then directly opposite you will find Sagittarius because Gemini and Sagittarius are opposing signs. We know that Venus is in Sagittarius because it's in the December 2020 Astro Memes and it is on the home page of this website.

The Moon and Venus have feminine energies and they are at odds (opposition). The Moon rules the emotions, feelings, moods and sensitivities. Females will likely not get along well during this aspect. Since it hits exact at 1:47 AM EST, then it is likely this energy will be felt before you go to bed on Sunday night. This is over-emotional and sensational as it causes one to go to great lengths to gain acceptance, approval or attention. Arrrgh! It's dramatic!

Expectations are high and when expectations are too high, they usual result in disappointment. The deep need for Love can result in self-indulgence, such as drinking too much, eating too much or shopping to much.

Oh my gosh! STOP self-destructing!!! Self-destruction does not attract Love, it will push it further away. CHILL! Watch a tear-jerker movie or a romantic comedy and get this energy out of your bones. In other words, cry it out or laugh it out, but DO NOT self-destruct. Self-destruction never attracts the one you Love.

There is also the possibility of the busy-body mother-in-law meddling in the affairs of the heart (marriage). Wow, there is nothing like having family issues and then have someone in the family stick their nose in where it does not belong. Eeek!

The Moon will then square Neptune at 7:00 AM EST right as most of the U.S. is waking up and the rest of the world is already into their day.

The Moon squaring Neptune brings on heavy moods and bouts of depression. If you were drinking last night (Sunday) then it is likely it did NOT help matters and you feel worse this morning (Monday) than you did before you decided to drink.

Neptune NEVER EVER goes well with drugs or alcohol and rarely makes you more attractive. You just can't mix Neptune in a cocktail. This aspect is loaded with emotions, just like a spider web is loaded with a yummy catch of insects. You will either get 'caught up' in an emotional web or you will read this and 'catch yourself' from doing just that. This aspect can leave you acting and reacting so dramatically that it ruins the energy for days to come. It could even ruin your week due to your bad behavior.

Neptune is incredibly spiritual, creative and it makes for a talented artist, but when afflicted Neptune loses his grip on reality and he can do crazy things like . . oh I dunno . . whack off an ear? Vincent Van Gogh had a whacked Neptune. In fact, he had this aspect, the Moon square Neptune. So while he was 'insanely' creative, he was also a hot-tempered Aries. One day he had a fight with his roommate, Paul Gaugin who was even more famous as an artist than Vincent at the time. Vincent lost his senses in a drunken rage, became confused and whacked off his ear. He explained the event to his brother as, "A simple artists bout of craziness."

Vincent was trying to keep the pace with Paul and put himself under 'insane' pressure. I always say if you want to get Good at something, then play or study under someone better than you, but not to the point that you would whack off an ear.

The moral of this story -- If you have an afflicted Neptune you have to ABSOLUTELY make sure that you DO NOT set the bar too high for yourself because it will create insecurity, jealousy and all kinds of feelings that can make you, crazy. I will NEVER be able to stress enough how much alcohol and drugs do not mix with Neptune.

Suffice it to say, Vincent also drank when his bouts of depression and/or mental illness surfaced. What do you do when you get sad or depressed?

So we look at the first aspect today (Monday), knowing it occurs at 1:47 AM EST, so it will impact us on Sunday night more since there is a 12 to 14 hour 'orb of influence'. If you solve your problems with a glass of wine, I guarantee your problem is not solved.

One more thing during this Moon squaring Neptune, 'enablers' come out of the woodwork thereby helping those in trouble to stay right where they are instead of helping them get better. Nothing works under this aspect except deep spirituality and creativity under the discipline of 'restraint'. I think I need to add this information to the Neptune in Pisces write-up.

The last aspect today is the Moon sextile Mars at 10:01 PM EST. Remember, there is a 12 to 14 hour 'orb of influence' before and after exactness with these lunar aspects.

Think 'force' whenever you see Mars, which is the ruler of Aries and the ancient ruler of Scorpio. Picture the charging ram dipping his forehead with intended force. Sextiles makes us smile, so this is a Good force. This aspect gives us the 'emotional force' necessary to carry out a project, task, chore or something that needs to be brought to completion. Of course you could use this aspect to start a project but we will experience a Full Moon in Cancer tomorrow (Tuesday - December 29, 2020) which is a time to wrap up projects, not begin a new one. The Full Moon is all about finishing what you started during the New Moon six (6) months earlier under the same sign (Cancer, in this case).

Normally Mars would want to fight, but in this placement Mars just wants to win. No one has to get hurt. Any underlying desire to fight will be kept under calm control because Mars is not in the mood for fighting. He is not even up for holding a grudge. He just wants to come out ahead, in first place of course.

The energy behind this aspect is infectious, contagious and personable. Mars definitely plays well with others here, as he is enthusiastic, which causes people to respond well in return. There is eagerness and excitement, along with impulsiveness that accompanies this energy.
