The BIG NEWS today is the Sun moves out of Sagittarius and into Capricorn. I will not spend too much time here on this page writing about the Sun in Capricorn because you can simply click on the Sun in Capricorn Astro Meme to go the larger write-up. Plus, Mercury moved into Capricorn yesterday as well, so I wrote a lot about Capricorn energy in yesterday's Daily Horoscope and then there is also the Astro Meme to take you to the larger write-up of Mercury in Capricorn.

I'm certain you have heard by now, when the Sun moves into Capricorn, it is the darkest and shortest day of the year where there is less daylight, it is the Winter Solstice and it is the official start of Winter. So beginning at 5:03 AM EST this morning, it offically became winter.

Even though Leo is the sign of royalty, Capricorn certainly runs neck-and-neck in this regard as Capricorn is the highest point of the chart, where those in high places live and breath. The altitude is different up there. Capricorn's will live in a way that gets them up higher. Whether that is living on a hill, living in a two-story home or driving an SUV. They have to live UP! Capricorn needs to feel as though they are 'King of the Mountain' or 'King of the Hill'. It's Good to be King says Capricorn. In order to get to know your chart and yourself better, get our your chart and blow the dust off of it. You must study yourself often. Look at the area in your chart that is ruled by Capricorn. It will likely ride a cusp, meaning you will have some Capricorn energy in one house as it overlaps a house cusp and the rest of the energy falls into the next house. There is also the possibility that all of your Capricorn energy is being intercepted, meaning it falls in-between two (2) houses and does not cover any house cusp. Still, you have Capricorn in your chart. Everyone does, even if you do not have a planet in Capricorn, the energy is there. If your Capricorn energy falls between house cusps, then look to the planet that rules Capricorn, which is Saturn, to pull the energy out of the chart and you will have something to work with and 'use', as the Capricorn motto is, "I use therefore I am."

The other even BIGGER MORE GIGANTIC news today is the Jupiter Conjunct Saturn aspect. Many of you have been waiting a long time for this, but if your birthday was on or after February 14, 2020 and you have been keeping up with your 2020 Solar Return then you would have seen that you have had this conjunction in your chart all this time. This aspect pretty much says, "Out with the old establishment, in with the new establishment." You have probably been in this 'out with the old, in with the new' mindset for quite some time. This conjunction is likely the reason why.

Since February 14, 2020 this aspect has been edging closer and closer to its exactness, which is today. That is what we call 'applying degrees' when two (2) planets are approaching their exactness and coming closer and closer together. So everyone with birth dates on or after February 14, 2020 up until its exactness at 1:21 PM EST today, will have this aspect in 'applying degrees' (approaching) as these two (2) planets kept approaching closer and closer to each other. In your Solar Return, I have indicated whether the aspect is in 'applying or separating' degrees and I indicated the exact amount of degrees that it is coming closer together (applying) or pulling and growing further apart (separating) after today.

I cannot stress to you enough how important knowing what is 'applying' and what is 'separating' degrees in your chart. And I spelled it out for you. As I state on this website and have often explained applying and separating degrees, I'll give you this easy way to remember what these words mean astrologically.

'Applying' is the same as 'approaching', and this means you can feel the energy coming. You know its coming. Whether the aspect is Good, bad or so-so, you can feel the energy coming. Your intuition can feel it or knows it or senses it or hears it or sees it. And listen . . . anyone can feel bad energy in a room. Anyone can pick up on that! But if you can pick up on bad energy, then you can pick up on Good energy. That's entirely up to you and what you tune-in to.

APPLYING ASPECTS ARE YOUR INTUITION because you can feel the energy approaching. Intuition is all over your charts astrotators! If I wrote your Expansive Natal Chart, then I included your 'applying and separating' degrees as well. I have been including those details in charts for 20 years. If I wrote your chart, it's in there.

'Separating' is the same as pulling apart. When two (2) planets are separating and pulling apart, then this leaves us feeling 'relieved' that the energy is over, or it leaves us feeling 'refreshed' that the energy occurred. We have this feeling afterward of its impact. So we are relieved or refreshed. We feel it. Golly Gee Astrostators, get out your charts and study yourself. You are such an intuitive being its crazy! You got this! And I feel that it is my job as your Astrologer to teach you how strong, powerful and intuitive you are! It is YOUR information! Read it.

Now we are back at Jupiter conjunct Saturn.

Those of you with birth dates from February 14, 2020 up until the minute before these two (2) planets are in exact degrees, minutes and seconds at 1:21 PM EST, you will have this aspect 'applying' in your 2020 Solar Return, as will those who are born this year, they will have it applying as well.

After 1:21 PM EST the two (2) planets will begin to separate in seconds . . and then in minutes . . and then they will gradually over days, then weeks and a couple of months they will separate in degrees more and more each day until March 16, 2021 when they are at their max for a conjunction to be True and then they will be out of the 'orb of influence'. Past 10 degrees of separation (or applying degrees) it is no longer a conjunction.

The Jupiter conjunct Saturn aspect is the new establishment (Jupiter) and the old establishment (Saturn) wrestling for power. You see folks, here is where the VISUAL JUICY COMES INTO PLAY. Before 1:21 PM EST Jupiter will be pushing on Saturn. In other words, Saturn comes first and then Jupiter is next to him. After 1:21 PM EST Jupiter OVERTAKES Saturn and passes him up. Now Saturn is pushing on Jupiter, but Jupiter will begin pulling away from Saturn. In your 2020 Solar Return, I explained this 'pushing' of Saturn on Jupiter or Jupiter pushing on Saturn, depending on if your birthday fell before today at 1:21 PM EST or after.

Is this freakin' cool or what? . . Now listen, I have so much more to say today but I need to get to the yoga studio as I teach at 9:30 AM EST (8:30 AM CST). I want to shut this computer down right now and then set back up at my office in the studio so I can keep writing up until my 1:00 PM EST (12:00 PM CST) class. So I will write more . . Okay so I'm back. As you can see I have posted a 6 page pdf file for the entire applying to separating degrees of Jupiter conjunct Saturn. If you are new to Astrology, it is important to know that the chart wheel is read counter-clockwise. Left to right around the wheel.

• Page 1 and 2 are the planetary glyphs (symbols) to help you identify the planets.

• Page 3 is dated February 14, 2020 and is labeled - Applying Degrees Jupiter Conjunct Saturn, which means Jupiter is approaching Saturn. A conjunction HAS TO BE within 10 degrees of each other. Note it shows Jupiter is at 16 degrees 36 minutes and Saturn is at 26 degrees 16 minutes. So Jupiter is 10 degrees away from touching Saturn and that makes it conjunct or a conjunction.

• Page 4 is dated December 21, 2020 at 1:20 PM EST and shows Jupiter at 00 degrees 29 minutes sitting right next to Saturn at 00 degrees 29 minutes. This is an EXACT conjunction. Since the chart is read left to right or in a counter clockwise fashion, notice that Jupiter is pushing on Saturn, getting ready to overtake him.

• Page 5 is dated December 21, 2020 at 1:21 PM EST and again shows Jupiter at 00 degrees 29 minutes sitting right next to Saturn at 00 degrees 29 minutes . . but now it is different. LOOK! Jupiter overtook Saturn. Jupiter leap-frogged over Saturn and Saturn is now pushing on Jupiter. Jupiter is now in the lead. Jupiter is now in charge. The old way, the old man, the old establishment is now behind Jupiter. It's over. Jupiter is now the New King and the new establishment is in place. The old king has lost his power.

• Page 6 is dated March 16, 2021 and is labeled - Separating Degrees Jupiter Conjunct Saturn, which means Jupiter has been traveling forward since December 21, 2020 and put a lot of distance and separation between him and the old king (Saturn). The old way is gone, the new way is here to stay.

Once all of this energy begins to iron out and settle down, we will all either feel 'relieved' or 'refreshed' that the energy occurred.
