For a more enriching experience,
go down on your knees to pray or take it one step further
and prostrate yourself (lay face down) on the floor while praying.
Father, there's no doubt about it, there have been times when I thought of myself as better than others or pushed my way to the front for one reason or another. I have also talked about myself without having been asked one question. Today's reading makes me realize that I need to check myself because I could certainly stand to be more modest and reverent and less egotistical and thoughtless. The qualities I want to possess are the ones that I need to work on becoming with a purity of intent that would make You proud of me. Father, thank You for the awareness today and forgive me for raising myself above others. I am truly humbled.
Through Jesus Christ's Precious Blood, Most Sacred Name and Most Holy Face. ~Amen
A reading from the Holy Gospel according to John
John 6:37-40
37 "All that the Father gives Me will come to Me; and him who comes to Me I will not cast out.
38 For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me;
39 and this is the will of Him who sent Me, that I should lose nothing of all that He has given Me, but raise it up at the last day.
40 For this is the will of My Father, that every one who sees the Son and believes in Him should have eternal Life; and I will raise him up at the last day."
