For a more enriching experience,
go down on your knees to pray or take it one step further
and prostrate yourself (lay face down) on the floor while praying.
Father, there are times when I do not reach out to others when they are in a time of need. For whatever excuse I have, I know that it is not right. Instead, my judgment gets in the way and it prevents me from doing the right thing. Sometimes my own haste gets in the way and I just don't make the time either. While I may point fingers at others for their lack of common courtesy, I have forgotten common courtesies that I learned as a child such as "please," "thank you" and "excuse me". While I realize that I cannot help everyone or save the world, I can do something to help, if even just to get the ball rolling for someone else. Thank You for the awareness in today's scripture and forgive me for what I have failed to do.
Through Jesus Christ's Precious Blood, Most Sacred Name and Most Holy Face. ~Amen
A reading from the Holy Gospel according to John
John 11:17-27
17 Now when Jesus came, He found that Laz'arus had already been in the tomb four days.
18 Bethany was near Jerusalem, about two miles off,
19 and many of the Jews had come to Martha and Mary to console them concerning their brother.
20 When Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went and met Him, while Mary sat in the house.
21 Martha said to Jesus, "Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.
22 And even now I know that whatever You ask from God, God will give You."
23 Jesus said to her, "Your brother will rise again."
24 Martha said to Him, "I know that he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day."
25 Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the Life; he who believes in Me, though he die, yet shall he live,
26 and whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?"
27 She said to Him, "Yes, Lord; I believe that You are the Christ, the Son of God, He who is coming into the world."
