For a more enriching experience,
go down on your knees to pray or take it one step further
and prostrate yourself (lay face down) on the floor while praying.
Father, today's reading below is a reminder of how peace begins with me and how unfair it is to leave peace to begin with others if I am not peaceful myself. I realize the closer I connect to You, the more peaceful I become. I have learned that I do not need to offer a comment or a suggestion all the time just so that I can be right, praised or show how much more I know than others. I have come to understand that we are all on our spiritual progression path, living our lives at our own pace and just trying to figure it all out. If I want peace in the world, then I must be peace myself. I do not want to be a person that barks about peace but cannot get along with those around me. From this moment forward I will choose to be contagious with peace so that those who come in contact with me will spread that peace to someone else. I choose to be non-confrontional, open-minded and a smart listener. I now know that not every moment needs my input. Sometimes I just need to shut-up and be present allowing my peaceful to take its intended effect and calm the moment, when in the moment. Sometimes less is more. Lay Your peace upon me Father. Slather Your Peace all over me right this very minute and every single day thereafter. Thank You for this awareness Father, I Love You.
Through Jesus Christ's Precious Blood, Most Sacred Name and Most Holy Face. ~Amen
A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Luke
Luke 19:41-44
41 And when He drew near and saw the city He wept over it,
42 saying, "Would that even today you knew the things that make for peace! But now they are hid from your eyes.
43 For the days shall come upon you, when your enemies will cast up a bank about you and surround you, and hem you in on every side,
44 and dash you to the ground, you and your children within you, and they will not leave one stone upon another in you; because you did not know the time of your visitation."
