For a more enriching experience,
go down on your knees to pray or take it one step further
and prostrate yourself (lay face down) on the floor while praying.
Father, Your Son Jesus said, 'If ye shall ask anything of Me in My name, I will do it.' Even though I believe His words, in the quiet chambers of my mind, I still find myself getting anxious and fearing that I will not attain the desire You placed in my heart. I cannot imagine how Jesus' apostles felt when they were told to take nothing with them on their journey. It would have certainly taken a tremendous amount of faith and courage to do that. Father, I would like to have the faith and courage of Jesus' apostles. The apostles ran into all kinds of trouble, criticism, disbelief and mockers as they moved about doing what they were commissioned to do. I want that same level of faith and courage to do my thing even when others criticize or mock me. I do not want to care more about what they think, more than what You think. Thank You for this awareness today to stand in my belief and carry on as if You were the only one watching me.
Through Jesus Christ's Most Precious Blood, Most Sacred Name and Most Holy Face, I thank You for this awareness. Amen~
A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Mark
Mark 16:15-20
15 And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to the whole creation.
16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.
17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: in My name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues;
18 they will pick up serpents, and if they drink any deadly thing, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover."
19 So then the Lord Jesus, after He had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God.
20 And they went forth and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them and confirmed the message by the signs that attended it. Amen.
