"Nowhere can man find a quieter or more untroubled retreat than in his own soul." ~Marcus Aurelius
|
I find peace in the quiet chambers of my own mind.

For a more enriching experience,
go down on your knees to pray or take it one step further
and prostrate yourself (lay face down) on the floor while praying.
Father, when I experience a stressful time, sometimes I find myself in a melodramatic and over-exaggerated display of emotions. Sometimes I say too much and others times I do not say enough. I do have Faith in You and Your Divine Guidance and I have no idea why I choose to continue to react in such a sensational reactive manner. I suppose it is because I feel afraid, alone and I don't know what to do. I know You are with me Father and now I consciously choose to embrace a higher state of awareness that includes You. I am listening Father. I am listening for You to tell me the next step to take. I ask You to increase my Faith, discipline and resolve so that when I encounter difficult circumstances, my spirit is calmed and I know exactly what to do. Just like when Jesus withdrew from the crowd to be with You and His own thoughts, so must I do the same. I am certain that You have my best interests under Your Divine Control, Influence, Power and Love. I am knocking. I am seeking. I am asking You to help me.
Through Jesus Christ's Most Precious Blood, Most Sacred Name and Most Holy Face, I thank You for this awareness. Amen~
A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Mark
Mark 6:45-52
45 Then He made His disciples get into the boat and precede Him to the other side toward Bethsaida, while He dismissed the crowd.
46 And when He had taken leave of them, He went off to the mountain to pray.
47 When it was evening, the boat was far out on the sea and He was alone on shore.
48 Then He saw that they were tossed about while rowing, for the wind was against them. About the fourth watch of the night, He came toward them walking on the sea. He meant to pass by them.
49 But when they saw Him walking on the sea, they thought it was a ghost and cried out.
50 They had all seen Him and were terrified. But at once He spoke with them, "Take courage, it is I, do not be afraid!"
51 He got into the boat with them and the wind died down. They were (completely) astounded.
52 They had not understood the incident of the loaves. On the contrary, their hearts were hardened.
