and prostrate yourself (lay face down) on the floor while praying.
Father, today's teaching always confused me with the combination of Good and evil, especially knowing that it was You that drove Jesus out into the desert. I always wondered why You would do that and then it dawned on me that it was an opportunity for Jesus to engage in His calling. After all, how do any of us practice our skill set unless we are challenged or tempted in Life? Every single day I am tested, tempted, challenged and confronted with opportunities that serve to engage my skill set so that I can become a better person and continue on in a stronger position with the work that You gave me to do. How else will I learn and get better at it if I don't get any practice?
The Scripture below also reminds me everything is Divinely Planned by You, just as it was Divinely Planned with Jesus and John. The relationship and timing of Jesus and John was on purpose. It was only after John was arrested (when his work was complete) that Jesus's calling shifted into a Higher Gear. One thing had to be complete before the other began, just as it goes in my Life. Once something ends, something else begins. Thank You for this awareness today Father of how everything is Divinely Planned and how everything has Your Divine Finger upon it, shifting it and stirring it until everything lands in the most perfect place for the perfect events to unfold according to Your Divine Plan. This gives me continued comfort and knowningness that the challenges in Life are really my time to practice my skill set. I Love You so much. Thank You!
Through Jesus Christ's Most Precious Blood, Most Sacred Name and Most Holy Face, I thank You for this awareness. Amen~
A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Mark
Mark 1:12-15
12 At once the Spirit drove him out into the desert,
13 and He remained in the desert for forty days, tempted by Satan. He was among wild beasts, and the angels ministered to Him.
14 After John had been arrested, Jesus came to Galilee proclaiming the gospel of God:
15 "This is the time of fulfillment. The kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel."
