Father, today's scripture serves as a stark reminder that it is my Faith that heals and saves me. If I am entertaining worry, doubt, fear or anxiety then clearly my Faith doesn't hold water and my claim of Faith is leaky. There is a reason why Jesus always said, "Your Faith has saved you" . . or . "Your Faith has healed you."
I understand why Jesus would always tell those He healed not to tell anyone. He was completely uninterested in gaining a following for Himself. He was more interested in sharing what You can do for others and giving You glory. Jesus was always moved with pity to help others. He saw that there was a lot of work to do and the laborers were few. He was more concerned with gaining more laborers for You than tooting His own horn. Not to mention, if everyone knew Who had healed them, Jesus could not have even made it into town, nor could He have ever gotten through a doorway due to the crowds. But seriously, who can possibly keep Good News to themselves anyway? Jesus was never going to be a secret because He was so awesome! Father, help me to always maintain a clear focus so that my level of Faith is absolutely impermeable, but also semi-permeable, so that my Faith can easily flow through osmosis from me to others.
Through Jesus Christ's Precious Blood, Most Sacred Name and Most Holy Face. ~Amen
A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Matthew
Matthew 9:27-31
27 And as Jesus passed on from there, two blind men followed (Him), crying out, "Son of David, have pity on us!"
28 When He entered the house, the blind men approached Him and Jesus said to them, "Do you believe that I can do this?" "Yes, Lord," they said to Him.
29 Then He touched their eyes and said, "Let it be done for you according to your faith."
30 And their eyes were opened. Jesus warned them sternly, "See that no one knows about this."
31 But they went out and spread word of Him through all that land.
