go down on your knees to pray or take it one step further
and prostrate yourself (lay face down) on the floor while praying.
Father, today's reading is a clear example of what it looks like when I am so focused on my own needs that I miss the big moment. Mary may have been in the moment but she was in 'her' moment. She didn't recognize the 'Big Aha' right away because she was in her grief. The 'Big Aha' was standing right in front of her. This reminds me of when I don't recognize someone standing right in front of me because I'm so focused on searching for them. It's like looking for my keys and they are right there! Then I say to myself, "Oh! There you are!" Father, help me to keep my focus without losing my sight. Thank You for this wonderful awareness that You are always with me and that no matter where I look or wherever I look, I am able to see a cross somewhere, in something, and know that Your Son Jesus, The Christ, is with me always.
Through Jesus Christ's Most Precious Blood, Most Sacred Name and Most Holy Face, I thank You for this awareness. Amen~
A reading from the Holy Gospel according to John
John 20:11-18
11 But Mary stood weeping outside the tomb, and as she wept she stooped to look into the tomb;
12 and she saw two angels in white, sitting where the body of Jesus had lain, one at the head and one at the feet.
13 They said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping?" She said to them, "Because they have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid Him."
14 Saying this, she turned round and saw Jesus standing, but she did not know that it was Jesus.
15 Jesus said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping? Whom do you seek?" Supposing Him to be the gardener, she said to Him, "Sir, if you have carried Him away, tell me where you have laid Him, and I will take Him away."
16 Jesus said to her, "Mary." She turned and said to Him in Hebrew, "Rab-bo'ni!" (which means Teacher).
17 Jesus said to her, "Do not hold Me (cling to Me), for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, I am ascending to My Father and your Father, to My God and your God."
18 Mary Mag'dalene went and said to the disciples, "I have seen the Lord"; and she told them that He had said these things to her.
