How many times have you said that you believe things happen for a reason, only to freak out when things do happen for a reason? We are challenged to stand in 'the mystery' everyday as the miracle of Life unfolds before our eyes. What will it take to believe in the 'miracle' ... of what we don't yet know ... and know that it all unfold as it is supposed to. Perhaps this little prayer will help.
Am I a pessimist or a realist?
"Anyone who doesn't believe in miracles is not a realist."
~David Ben-Gurion
Miracles are my reality.
For a more enriching experience, go down on your knees to pray or take it one step further and prostrate yourself (lay face down) on the floor while praying.
Father, I do believe that things happen for a reason and even though there is mystery surrounding that statement, my actions and reactions can be demanding in my search for answers, especially during a conversation that is controversial. Sometimes I get angry and confrontational when I don't get it; whatever 'it' is. Please help me to remain calm and open to hearing what I need to hear. Jesus always stayed calm during times of being confronted, He simply stood in the question and never veered off the question mark. He remained, answered directly, and never changed channels in the middle of the conversation. He stayed with the question. I am so grateful that You gave us Your Son Jesus to help us understand how to handle controversy. I pray for your Divine Assistance to give me the wisdom to accept and appreciate all the mysteries of Life.
Through Jesus Christ's Most Precious Blood, Most Sacred Name and Most Holy Face, I thank You for this awareness. Amen~
A reading from the Holy Gospel according to John
John 13:16-20
16 "Truly, truly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master; nor is he who is sent greater than he who sent him.
17 If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.
18 I am not speaking of you all; I know whom I have chosen; it is that the scripture may be fulfilled, `He who ate my bread has lifted his heel against me.'
19 I tell you this now, before it takes place, that when it does take place you may believe that I am He.
20 Truly, truly, I say to you, he who receives any one whom I send receives Me; and he who receives Me receives him who sent Me."
