Father, after reading the scripture below I can see in hindsight why some things have to occur as they do in order for other things to roll out as they are supposed to. If the stone to Jesus' tomb had never been rolled away, the empty tomb would have not made such a loud impact. It was seeing the empty tomb that made such a powerful and deafening sound, then seeing Jesus' burial linens lying there is what sealed the awareness for all who came to see. This reminds me of how at times in my Life, I had to experience the emptiness in order to get the message. That could have come in the form of a empty bank account, the absence of a Loved one, the break-up of someone I Loved, the disconnection with a friend, the loss of a pet . . . I know what empty feels like.
I can see the symbolism of why in the Catholic church, from Holy Thursday until Easter morning (for 3 days), the tabernacle that holds the consecrated hosts, the door is left swung wide open and the tabernacle is empty. This gives us the same feeling it gave the women and the apostles who viewed the tomb, "Where is my Lord and where have they taken Him." It also gives us that bold awareness of what if someone had stolen Jesus' body and He never rose on the 3rd day. It gives us that empty feeling. What would Life be like had this never happened? If I look back on those empty moments in my Life, that is exactly what was necessary in order for me to get, the get. It had to happen in that way in order for me to 'get' the full understanding. Thank You Father, once again for such a brilliant awareness as to why things have to 'roll out' as they do in order for them to fulfill their intended purpose.
Through Jesus Christ's Most Precious Blood, Most Sacred Name and Most Holy Face, I thank You for this awareness. Amen~
A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Mark
Mark 16:1-7
1 And when the sabbath was past, Mary Mag'dalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salo'me, bought spices, so that they might go and anoint Him.
2 And very early on the first day of the week they went to the tomb when the sun had risen.
3 And they were saying to one another, "Who will roll away the stone for us from the door of the tomb?"
4 And looking up, they saw that the stone was rolled back; -- it was very large.
5 And entering the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, dressed in a white robe; and they were amazed.
6 And he said to them, "Do not be amazed; you seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has risen, He is not here; see the place where they laid Him.
7 But go, tell His disciples and Peter that He is going before you to Galilee; there you will see Him, as He told you."
