Father, today's reading below reminds me of responsibility and how I must tend to my mind, body and personal affairs, just as You do. This also reminds me of the business owner who assumes all of the risk, responsibility and service, whereas the hired, do not have the same level of care as the owner or Shepherd in Jesus's case. Thank You for this bold awareness that I 'must' care and tend to the things and people (my sheep) that are under my care and in my fold. I 'must' also take responsibility for my own personal care and affairs because I am ultimately under the care of me. While You certainly do have my back, sometimes I use my free will to make bad decisions, which leads me astray. When that happens I need to remember that You are always out there waiting for me to come back to You. It is never You that leaves me, it is I who leave You. I'm so sorry for those times Father and it is my Good intention to keep my mind, heart and soul focused on You. No matter how great the desire may be, I never want to be separated from You. I know that whatever You have, I want it because it must be Good. Thank You! I Love You! I need You! I want You, in my Life!
Through Jesus Christ's Most Precious Blood, Most Sacred Name and Most Holy Face, I thank You for this awareness. Amen~
A reading from the Holy Gospel according to John
John 10:11-16
11 I AM the Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd lays down his Life for the sheep.
12 He who is a hireling and not a shepherd, who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees; and the wolf snatches them and scatters them.
13 He flees because he is a hireling and cares nothing for the sheep.
14 I AM the Good Shepherd; I know My own and my own know Me,
15 as the Father knows Me and I know the Father; and I lay down my Life for the sheep.
16 And I have other sheep, that are not of this fold; I must bring them also, and they will heed My Voice. So there shall be one flock, one shepherd.
