Watercress is an aquatic plant found in streams and other bodies of water. It is a cousin to cabbage and arugula. It is commonly found in Central Asia, North America, South America and Europe. It’s very versatile in cooking but needs to washed thoroughly to strip any impurities it may have. More than 15 vitamins and minerals are found in this herb.
A handful of vitamins are found in watercress, the most prominent being Vitamin K, which helps to strengthen bones. Additionally, the Vitamin C and Vitamin A found in this herb help fight off infections and support the immune system, respectively.
