Valerian is recognized around the world for its ability to promote a restful sleep and relaxing effect on the body. Valerian is rich in magnesium, potassium, copper, some lead and zinc. Valerian is a tall, flowering plant grow in Europe and Asia. The most common usage of Valerian is to treat sleep disorders, including insomnia, and relaxation. It acts as a sedative on the nervous system and the brain.
Promotes restful sleep and relaxation. Soothes muscle tension. Aids in convulsions, high blood pressure, hysteria, hypochondria, nervousness, and pain. Valerian is commonly used for nervous tension and as a pain reliever and for relaxing muscle spasms. The herb can be added to bath water to help individuals with restlessness. It also helps to reduce stress. Food manufactures use oils and other extracts from valeriana to flavor food and beverages. Also, some women use valerian to relieve their menstrual cramps. Drowsiness. In extremely high doses, may cause a weakening of the heart-beat. Do not exceed recommended amounts. Prolonged or excessive use can cause mental depression in some people. Headache, blurred vision, nausea, change in heartbeat, and morning grogginess may occur. Unlikely but report to your doctor if you experience dark urine or stomach pain. Any other side effects should be reported to your doctor immediately.

Short term use only. Not recommended for small children. Take by mouth, generally 30 to 60 minutes before bedtime. This product should not be taken for more than 2 weeks. Follow all directions on the product package.
