The plant is found from Maryland to the Gulf of Mexico and is named after Dr. Benjamin Stillingfleet. It is a perennial herb with an angled stem that has a milky sap inside. It can grow to 2 - 4 feet tall and has yellow flowers.
With a multitude of uses, Stillingia also known as Queen’s Root is used for to fight various infections and detoxify the body providing relief from inflammation and irritation. Used in the natural treatment of digestive problems such as constipation and reducing itching and inflammation associated with hemorrhoids. As a topical solution, stillingia can be used in the treatment of eczema, boils and burns. For upper respiratory infections, stillingia can provide relief from sore throats, laryngitis, and bronchitis.
