Psyllium is part of the same family as the plantain but the seeds are best used for medicinal purposes. It’s a low-growing herb native to India, Iran, and Pakistan.
For use to treat cholesterol, constipation and as an aid in diet or weight loss. Used as a natural laxative.
Safe to use as a laxative alone. Do not mix this with stimulant laxatives at the same time. Allow two hours between taking psyllium and other medications or supplements. Take with 1 full glass of water. Generally safe but gas or stomach cramping may occur
