Remember when Jesus healed the 10 lepers? He asked, "Were not ten healed? Where are the other nine? Luke 17:12-17"
Only one came back, fell on his face and said to Jesus, "Thank You." When I catch myself in a self-serving moment or my ego needs checked or slapped around, I remember his words, "Where are the other nine?"
Before beginning any Prayer, first read it over and absorb what you will be saying. Then gather your thoughts and choose the specific words that you will be using to ask for your special request or intention, when appropriate.
For a more enriching experience, go down on your knees to pray or take it one step further and prostrate yourself (lay face down) on the floor while praying.
Lord Jesus.
I need You.
Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins.
I open the door of my life, and receive You as my Lord and Savior.
Take control of my life.
Make me the kind of person You want me to be.
In Jesus Christ's name I pray,
who lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit
One God
forever and ever.
