MERCURY SEXTILE SATURN
This is an easy aspect showing cooperation between two planets which leads to opportunity. It has a positive blending effect on the planets. Sextiles are considered a "soft" or "easy" aspects that reflect the planets involved. They have a way of delivering you an opportunity. It's as if the phone is ringing or there is a knock at the door. Again, it is your choice to answer the opportunity. Opportunities can reveal themselves under the strangest of circumstances.
It is important to understand that Mercury rules the reasoning and conscious mind that forms conclusions. Mercury is intellectual, enjoys learning, teaches and is communicative. Saturn rules stability, responsibility and longevity. Saturn is also disciplined and cautious. Saturn is lasting and will stand the test of time. Saturn rules time.
Mercury sextile Saturn is mentally at work. Mercury rules mental abilities, learning and processing mindfully, and Saturn is the sign of work, career and status.
When you put the two planets together as described above, you get a very disciplined mind, especially where work and career are concerned. You can see here the mind is literally at work. The is the classic, "Mr. or Miss Fix it!" This is because Mercury rules the 3rd house of the mind, the 6th house of work ethic and daily routine, and Saturn rules the 10th house of career and profession. So this aspect is most definitely connected to work and career.
Maybe you are busy fixing up the house and keeping up with the Joneses (neighbors). Maybe you are tinkering in the garage. Maybe you WD40'ing all of the door hinges and handles in the house. Maybe you are walking around with a screwdriver tightening all of the screws in the house. This would be the perfect time to do the tiny little things that will make a big difference. Maybe do the patchwork on the drywall. Get er' done! Change the Lightbulbs. Put a new battery in the remote(s).
Saturn is the planet of 'practicality' which carries the motto of 'I use therefore I am'. You may find yourself purging whatever does not have a practical use.
Mercury sextile Saturn is also the 'Voice of Authority' since Mercury rules the voice, as in communication, and Saturn rules authority figures. If you have a question, then ask the one who is the 'Voice of Authority' on the subject.
