VENUS IN VIRGO

Venus moves into Virgo from August 4, 2024 until August 29, 2024.

Venus transits a Sun Sign right at about every 30 days and sometimes up to 60 days depending on its motion, meaning if it involves a Retrograde.

This 'planet in a sign' reminds me of the character 'Charlotte' on the show 'Sex and the City', who was so obsessed with the 'perfect looking relationship' that it perfectly didn't work out. Charlotte's character was known for having extreme picky standards when it came to dating. She ended up with a phoney looking marriage with a cardiologist (of course a heart doctor since she was always searching for the perfect Love). His name was Trey MacDougal. She married into the perfect looking family (pedigree), but ultimately there were sexual issues on his part and child-bearing issues on her part that prevented her from having the actual perfect family.

Trey and Charlotte ultimately divorced and she ending up marrying her divorce attorney (Harry Goldenblatt) who looked to be her most unlikely match, but he turned out to be 'her perfect match'. When she married him, they had trouble conceiving, again due to issues on her part. Having a children was VERY important for Charlotte and her perfect family. Ahhhh, alas Venus in Virgo. Ultimately she and Harry adopted a little girl and then Charlotte became pregnant with their second daughter. What a tough way to learn about relationships, Love and what perfection in Love and relationships really is.

If you watched the show, remember how whiney about relationships Charlotte was and then how bitchy and nagging Charlotte became (especially with Harry) until Harry had enough. Charlotte learned the hard way (no pun intended) and still ended up with her perfect person (Harry). There is no perfect person, but there is someone perfect for each of us. No doubt, Charlotte's character had Venus in Virgo.

The Venus glyph is the upright symbol of Mars, where Venus is feminine (yin) energy and Mars is masculine (yang) energy. It is represented by the circle of spirit over the cross of matter. It represents the spirit overcoming matter through Love. Venus is the yin side of our emotional nature and rules Love, beauty, harmony, affection, appreciation, sensual, vanity, flirtatious, art, music and aesthetics. The house that Venus occupies in your Natal Chart or Solar Return is where these characteristics will manifest the most.

Venus reveals how we like to relate to our environment and other people. Venus also shows how you express your emotions in personal relationships, especially where marriage and Love are concerned. Venus will reveal if we are attracted to strong, sensual and intense relationships or if we prefer freedom and independence. It also indicates what we value, and therefore is linked with money, personal possessions, resources, creature comforts, aesthetic, social values and morals. The house that Venus occupies in your Natal Chart is where these characteristics will manifest the most.

Here is a nice little piece of Venus trivia for you. Venus will never be more than two Sun Signs away from the Sun. This means someone who has their Sun in Virgo, will have their Venus within 2 Sun Signs on either side of Virgo or it will be in the sign of Virgo. This means there are five possibilities that a Virgo Sun Sign individual might have their Venus -- Venus in Cancer, Venus in Leo, Venus in Virgo, Venus in Libra or Venus in Scorpio. This helps you guess someone's Venus even if you don't know their exact birthdate but you know their Sun Sign. You can rule out Venus in the opposite sign (Pisces) or the three signs on each side Pisces (Aries, Taurus, Gemini) and (Aquarius, Capricorn, Sagittarius). Cool huh?

Venus is the planet of Love, romance, pleasure, relationships, self-worth, dignity and all things beautiful. Venus is also the planet of personal finances, self-worth, morals, values, what we value, earned income and how we handle money. Venus is like the Greek root phil- or philo- which means to have a Love of or strong affinity for something or someone. So when you think of Venus in your personal natal chart think "Love of" whatever sign is involved.

Venus in Virgo is actually in its Fall. This is where you do not have all of the tools necessary to help you. This is like someone thrust into a management position 'without' the knowledge, experience or skills necessary to do the job. Or it's like the 6th grader entering college. It's just out of place and you will need some extra help. Venus in Pisces is in its exalted state (strength), which is why Venus in Virgo (Pisces opposite sign) is in its Fall (weakest state).

This placement brings about an over-analysis of emotions and causes us to be critical of those we Love. It is the classic nag! It complains, nags and whines about Loved ones. If you find yourself doing this, then ask yourself, "Who do I think I am?" When this card is played inappropriately then it can cause us to make others feel inhibited and self-conscious, which in turn closes down the spontaneous ebb and flow of communication. Talk about throwing a wrench in the cogwheels of Love! Remember, we are attracted to others because of the way they make us feel. If we are left to feel bad, then we are no longer attracted.

Venus in Virgo is looking for perfection in Love and dissects a relationship petal by petal instead of looking at the totality of the bloom. You may ask yourself during 3-1/2 week transit of Venus, "How easy am I to live with and how do I express my Love?" In other words, during this Venus transit do not focus on how someone else expresses Love to you, focus on how you express Love to them. Are you going to maximize Love, which is the full bloom of the rose and the totality of its parts, or are you going to minimize Love and focus on the parts of the rose that you like and dissect Love petal-by-petal?

Those with Venus in Virgo in their natal chart usually stay single longer or do not marry at all more than any other Venus placement simply because they can not (and will not) find that 'perfect' Love. The illusion is there is no perfect Love, but the reality is there is the perfect Love for us.

Venus naturally rules Taurus and Libra, so in the context of Taurus energy this brings up the subject matter of ---> value systems, physical possessions, money, self esteem and talents. It also rules your personal earnings, earned income, budgets, money that "you" make, material resources, monetary gains and losses and your basic security. Basically, Venus in this context is about your self-worth. You may find yourself looking in the mirror and picking yourself apart or you may find yourself diving into your finances and picking apart your bills line item by line item. This is where you may cut off the pork in your spending, or remove a few perks off your cable or satellite bill. You might even decide that you are spending too much money on the wrong foods, which in turn costs you more money in maintaining bad health. Venus in Virgo is the time to invest in the gym membership since Virgo rules our physical health.

Venus naturally rules Libra as well, so in the context of Libra energy this brings up the subject matter of ---> contractual relationships, coupled unions, contracts, partnerships, marriages, agreements, and open enemies with the public, such as lawsuits. This can be partnerships in business, marriage or a committed relationship that is a live-in arrangement. It also includes long-term associations, the animus (underlying passion or force) and the relationship between the soul and personality. This can cause us to pick apart our partners so there is nothing left of them. Those of you who are looking to social media or dating websites to find Mr. or Miss Wonderful may find that you are suddenly becoming way too picky. Note that the pickiness will come from the other side as well because Venus in Virgo is looking to tear apart petal-by-petal, so Good luck finding Love during Venus in Virgo. You are better off picking yourself apart (in a wonderful way) and correcting your bad habits before you lay them on someone else and expect them to like it. Take the next several weeks and correct your bad behaviors and resume your Mr. or Miss Wonderful search after November 8, 2023.

While this placement can help you gain clarity in the matters of the money and Love, it is a placement that results in more single people than couples. Those who have Venus in Virgo in their natal chart are usually single or they have a very hard time finding and maintaining Love. Remember, people Love us because of the way we make them feel. If we make them feel bad, how could they Love us as Love was intended? Venus in Virgo is just too damn picky in Love. Your energy would be better spent looking in the mirror and asking, "Who the hell do I think I am?"

Venus in Virgo is the classic NAG! Folks, you will really need to watch your tendency to bitch, nag, gripe and put down your spouse, mate or partner alone or in front of others. When you do this in front of others, you don't make them look bad, you will make yourself look bad.

Psychology is always and will probably always be in the top 10 college majors in the U.S., and those who don't major in psychology, have still had to take several classes in psychology just because a degree requires it. The most basic Psychology class that any first year college student has is Psychology 101.

So what I'm saying is, if you have a tendency to bitch, nag, gripe and put someone else down, especially in front of others, there is a whole HUGE group of people out there who is on to you and your psychological issues. OUCHY! Venus in Virgo is tough and you will be dissected, just as you dissect others. Hmmmm, seems to me Jesus had the beat on this.
