The BIG NEWS today is Mercury (communication, the mind) conjuncts Jupiter (expansion, overflow), which is the aspect of the classic non-stop talker. There is probably no other aspect that will drive me crazier than this aspect. While Gemini's are definitely talkers, Gemini's are also listeners. Gemini is as much a talker as they are a listener, but it's more along the lines of communicating something, not just filling the void with words or sounds.

Mercury is the ruling planet of Gemini and Jupiter is the ruling planet of Sagittarius. Gemini and Sagittarius are opposite signs, which means these two (2) planets while they are conjunct in the same Sun Sign right now (Aries), they are naturally opposing planets because of the signs they rule. Even more, Mercury is also the natural ruler of Virgo, which naturally squares Gemini and Sagittarius. So you see, from a rulership perspective, this aspect is just too much.

I am a Gemini and this aspect is just too damn much talking for me, which can drive me absolutely out of my mind. I do not like talking for the sake of just finding something to say or filling in gaps of silence. I would rather sit in comfortable silence in a car or on the couch next to someone I like (or Love) without babbling useless and insignificant chatter, and worse than that, gossip. This Mercury conjunct Jupiter aspect will just go from one sentence to the next without coming up for air. In fact, this aspect will ask you a question without waiting for your reply, and then just roll into the next sentence or question. Gosh I can't stand it! F!!! Let me answer the damn question! See, just thinking about this aspect makes me want to slap someone.

If you ask those with this aspect in their natal chart what time it is, they will end up building you a clock instead of just answering the question. This aspect is extremely talkative and tends to fill in every second with a word. This is no and will be no comfortable silence when this aspect is present.

If you are a thinker (like myself) you will not get that moment of silence unless you take it, walk away, drive away and then lock yourself in your car out in the country. Also, the person with this aspect in their natal chart (or Solar Return) will need to have sound on, somewhere, all the time. The TV will be on, or the radio will be on in the car, all the time. Everything with sound is on. It's maddening for a thinker. Heck I can drive long trips by myself with no sound on at all, the whole time. In fact, I never turn on my radio.

The great part of this aspect is there is a thirst for knowledge, which is why the next question is asked before the first question is even answered. While this aspect thirsts for knowledge, it also wants to impart knowledge on others and dump out all of that information, which is why this is the placement of the teacher, philosopher, counselor, minister or even politicians as these professions enjoy talking, teaching others and hearing themselves speak.

The individual with this placement in their chart 'requires' conversation. This aspect 'can' gain respect because of the intellect and is highly respected or may have influential reputation. The person would just need to put themselves in the position of being the talker (lecturer, speaker) rather than the dominiator of conversation.

For the rest of us, if lately, too much talking has left you closed-off, closed-down and just looking for some peace and quiet, you have about 7 more days until this aspect runs its course. Those of you with this aspect in your Solar Return, meaning with a birth date between March 22, 2023 and April 3, 2023, you will have this aspect in your 2023 Solar Return. Be mindful. If you are going to overload on talking, then you might want to consider getting paid for it.
