The BIG NEWS today is the New Moon in Aries, which occurs at exactly 1:23 PM EDT when the Moon conjuncts the Sun at 00 degrees 49 minutes. Remember, the Sun entered Aries last night at 5:24 PM EDT.

Also, there is a reason why I choose Eastern Time and New York as the coordinates when I calculate a chart wheel. While the heaviest traffic does come from the U.S., this site is also a popular global website. And since I have to choose a time zone, and most people know where New York, NY is located on a map and that it is in Eastern Time, then I use that location and time zone. If I used the Prime Meridian GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) at the Royal Observatory in Greenwich, London, this may complicate time zone calculations for the bulk of my visitors.

The chart wheel is read counter-clockwise. Notice the perimeter of the chart wheel looks like a ruler with little tiny notches. Each notch is a degree. Notice there are 30 notches for each of the 12 Sun Signs. 30 degrees x 12 Sun Signs = 360 degrees (a wheel).

You might ask yourself . . . "Self? If each notch on the chart wheel is one day, then why aren't there 360 days in a year and not 365?"

The answer is . . . Because the Earth is a sphere and not a circle. If the Earth were a circle then we would probably have 360 days in a year, but that is 'only if' the speed of the earth is 1 degree per day, every day. Some days it takes a little more time. Sphere/Circle? Similar but different. So, it takes 365 days in a year for the Earth to complete one revolution around Sun.

Back to the New Moon in Aries. A New Moon is when the Moon and the Sun are in the same sign and same degree. In other words, they are conjunct, like conjoined twins and a conjunction emphasizes and intensifies the energies of the planets involved. In this case, the Moon will be in Aries at exactly 00 degrees 49 minutes and the Sun will be in Aries at exactly 00 degrees 49 minutes, which you can see on the downloadable chart. Incidentally, this chart wheel has been posted since late-October 2022 on the Monthly Astro Memes page.

The New Moon is ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS a time of new beginnings and fresh starts. If you notice from the downloadable chart wheel, there is a 'Stellium' present.

A Stellium is a group or cluster of planets (4 or more) in the same sign or astrological house, in this case Aries. There are five (5) cosmic bodies involved, which is the Sun in Aries, the Moon in Aries, Mercury in Aries, Chiron in Aries and Jupiter in Aries.

Stelliums are not really 'that rare' if you write or see enough charts. Some astrologers will say three (3) or more planets, which would really not make them all that rare. But, four (4) or more planets in the same sign (house). Wow Wee! Now that's an eye-full. And that's what we have today.

This actually is my all-time-favorite New Moon of the entire year. New Moon's are always about fresh starts and new beginnings, so when this New Moon is in the sign of Aries, it magnifies the energy because Aries is the first sign of the zodiac charging right out of the astrological gate to be first in line and crossing over the finish line first. To say this New Moon is competitive would be an understatement. Aries really doesn't even really need competition from anyone else because Aries competes with itself for personal best.

Aries is the first of firsts and the start of creation (as I explained on Sunday) pretty close to the beginning of the write-up.

Aries is the trail-blazer, the pioneer and the starter. Every team of any size needs a starter who comes up with the ideas and puts them to action. It's like the starting pitcher on a baseball team. The starting pitcher does not have to finish the game, they just have to get the game started and going in the right direction. Aries 'does not' need a relief pitcher to come in until the game is on the right track and winning. Aries is all about FIRST AND WINNING!

Notice that the glyph for Aries represents the horns of the charging ram. This is symbolic of their aggressive and fiery nature. Aries sprung to Life as the first sign of the zodiac (the sprouting seed) bringing with it an explosion of energy. So Aries represents 'the beginning' (Genesis) and 'the big bang'. This is why the New Moon in Aries is so important. It explodes with new ideas, new opportunities, new pathways, new ways and new trails.

YOU MUST do your best to take advantage of any 'newness' that comes your way. Below is the house where you will be affected by sign. You can also take the ram by the horns and blaze your own trail and pioneer your own pathway. Take your ideas and put them to action. Aries is an action-oriented sign, so to get the most out of this energy, you must apply yourself using a fresh start and new beginning. This is the time to get that new project or idea off the ground, especially something that has to do with the house affected in the individual writings below.

Also pay close attention to the house in your chart where Aries is at 00 degrees. This is where this New Moon will be felt the most 'for you' because it would be more personal to you rather than as an entire Sun Sign.

It is very important to remember that the Pisces Moon that we experienced over the two (2) days prior to the New Moon rules the past, karma, pain, which can scare the pants off of you because it represents things that you don't want others to see or know about you, it represents your own self-undoing (how you hurt yourself or stunt your own growth) and skeletons in the closet. Well that ought to be enough to instigate change with this Aries Moon. Haven't you had enough?

SUN IN ARIES -- The Sun is the planet of individuality, character and where the Sun is shining brilliantly for the world to see. The Sun is exalted in the sign of Aries, which is the second strongest placement for the Sun next to Leo. An exaltation is often looked as being a 'guest' in this house. Have you ever heard anyone say, "Mi casa, su casa." In Spanish this means, "My house is your house." An exaltation is saying, "Welcome, take your shoes off and stay a while. I enjoy having you here." Translation = I Love this so much I could live here!

So you see my dear little astrotators, the Universe is a happy place when the Sun is in Aries. The is the second best placement for the Sun with the first being in the sign of Leo, since the Sun naturally rules Leo. I know, I know, Aries does not like to come in second place, but in this case, the Sun in Aries is in the second most favorable position. Also consider that the Sun is heat. While Mars may be seen as a 'hot planet', it's actually pretty cold. Mars has a hard time holding on to its heat there due its thinner atmosphere. Perhaps this why Mars in astrology is seen as hot-headed or a planet that lets its aggression (heat) release so easily. Mars can't hold in the heat and will release whether anyone likes it or not. So why not find a proper channel to release your Mars energy?

MOON IN ARIES -- Always keep in mind, the Moon rules the emotions, feelings, moods and sensitivities. With the nature of the Aries impulse and get-the-hell-out-of-my-way initiative, there is only a concern for 'the self', which does not take into account due consideration of others. The Moon naturally rules the sign of Cancer (home, family, mother, nurturing) and the sign of Cancer naturally squares Aries. Remember, a square is like a sharp elbow in your side. A square is two signs (Aries, Cancer) that is separated by two signs (Taurus, Gemini). So Cancer and Aries are separated by Gemini and Taurus. Boom, a square!

Being that Cancer is the maternal, nurturing, caretaker, nurse and breast feeding sign, and Aries is the rowdy six-year old who heads out so fast he forgets his water bottle and rides his bicycle on the main road . . . you can now see how the Moon in Aries is simply out of place and out of touch with feelings.

The emotions, feelings, moods and sensitivities are the driving force causing you to become independent, self-reliant and a lone wolf thereby pushing you to take charge of your own Life. You will feel your own gears shift where YOU become important and YOU have ignored yourself long enough.

This isn't about what others have not given you or what they took from you. No one took anything that you were not willing to give. You gave up on you and now you are back in the game. Put me in coach! You are ready to play the game of Life again. In the Spring, Aries springs forth and takes action, which exactly what you are ready to do with this New Moon in Aries. Translation = "I'm going to blaze my own trail and take care of myself! I don't need my mommy, I don't need a caretaker and I don't need You! I can do it my self!"

MERCURY IN ARIES -- Mercury in the sign of Aries is the classic 'Rash Thinker', which is one who makes decisions without thinking of the consequences. And no, PRESIDENT Trump does not have his Mercury in Aries, he has a Mercury in Cancer, which is the one who has their 'finger on the pulse of the public' and on 'domestic affairs' (the homeland).

Mercury in Aries reminds us to guard against becoming too headstrong in your thinking and decision-making.

A quick temper is often times a by-product of this placement, which can leave you without anyone to communicate with by this transits end date, which is April 3, 2023. Seriously, many will have no one talking to them by that date.

Maybe you and your Honey-Love, or close friend already became snippy with each other. This aspect moves quickly, not only in conversation, thought and mental ability, but in traffic!

This transit of Mercury is also a quick sell. Think of a fast-talking salesman and an impulsive buyer.

Side note - for the sensitive verbiage types, I use the word sales'man' deliberately. I say mankind, sometimes I say humankind, but mostly I say mankind, which includes the totality of man and wo-man.

CHIRON IN ARIES from February 18, 2019, until April 14, 2027. Chiron was only discovered in November of 1977. Chiron is known as 'the wounded healer'. Looking at how Chiron has shown up in each sign since 1977, it's pretty clear that 'the wounded healer' label fits pretty dang well.

Chiron represents our emotional and physical wounds. It reveals the part of us that is hurt, small and vulnerable. This is where we are encouraged to heal our wounds, and then look beyond our personal realm, to see the suffering of others, and to become teachers and healers. We all have it in us to become healers and teachers.

Who doesn't just want to help people? Whatever we do, it is always to serve or help others. That is how God made us and we just can't help it. But how in the hell could we possibly help others if we don't understand them. The guy or gal leading the AA meeting is of course an alcoholic himself or herself. How would he or she possibly understand others in the group if they were not an alcoholic too? Our service is never about others as much as it is about ourselves.

Notice how Chiron is represented by a symbol that looks like a key. This key, unlocks the wound, that we are to heal and embrace, in order to use, to help others. We cannot heal it, if we do not unlock it. Oh my Goodness, if you all only knew, really knew, what it took in order for me to bring this website to you, it would blow your mind. It's all water under the bridge now, but I walked and beat a path, along the path, to get to this place right now. I went through some crazy times that I can't really even speak of, not yet, but I was obviously working on a 'self-worth' path at the time too. Now? I have self-worth down cold! Over time, I earned my stripes and my new and improved Life.

As I watched the patterning of Chiron through the years through my natal chart, it gave me a wonderful guide of hope as I moved through each sign. Chiron can transit a sign from anywhere between 1-1/2 years to 9 years. What kind of whacked pattern is that? Well, as the wounded healer, isn't that how our wounds operate, at a whacked pattern?

Chiron spends the most time in Pisces and Aries at 8 and 9 years, which is interesting since Pisces ends the astrological calendar and Aries begins a new astrological calendar.

Aries is the 1st sign and Pisces is the last sign. Aries is the beginning and Pisces is the ending. Interesting that Chiron's transit lasts so long in these two signs. I guess it's what we need and the Universe (Father) always knows best.

Also, think about wounds and how long it takes for different wounds to heal. There are scratches that are superficial and some that go deep and require a Band-Aid. There are bruises that are deep to the bone and some that are superficial. We see the healing of a bruise taking place by noting the color. Think of diabetic wound care and how delicate and dangerous it is.

Chiron can takes years to heal in therapy with a counselor or a stint in rehab. Chiron can heal with a gauze dressing or laying in a hospital bed. Chiron can heal go through out-patient surgery or heal naturally through home remedies and Lifestyle change. It's entirely up to you, but the transit time of Chiron in a sign will give us a pretty Good indication of how long this healing will take.

In this round of Chiron through the sign of Aries, it will take eight (8) years of self-care and putting your mask on first. NOT to protect others from you, but to protect yourself. Let's be clear about that. (winky wink) Plus, we know we can't help others unless we help ourselves FIRST. Chiron in Aries says, "Help yourself FIRST!"

It is also important to reminder you that Aries arrives on the scene FIRST. This is why FIRST RESPONDERS are Aries type of people. Aries energy runs into the fire, not away from the blaze. Aries is courageous, leads and dips its head down and charges foreward.

Think about this with so much Aries energy present . . we will see a stronger presence of Aries energy during this time. Aries will make a strong present through the end of March 2023 and right up until the Sun moves out of Aries on April 20, 2023.

This energy can be a tremendous growth spurt for those who choose to accept this mission and blaze a new trail, not only for yourelf, but others. Aries energy says, "I AM" . . "I am" . . The I AM/am presence within. You are not to blame anyone for how your Life turned out to be the way that it is. Along the way, you chose, you picked, you accepted or declined.

Remember, if it is to be, it is up to ME because Aries is all about -- me, myself and I. There is no blame or finger pointing with this energy, either put up or SHUT UP!

Now here's some real meat right here. If you look at the New Moon in Aries Chart Wheel you will see that Chiron and Jupiter are conjunct with a less than 02 degree of separation. Folks, FIRST RESPONDERS ON HIGH ALERT!

He's already present, he's just been waiting on the call. You know, the like the firemen (men and wo-men) in the firehouses. They are just waiting for the call. It's not that they want you to call or be in need of them, but if you do need them, there they are. Jesus too!

Remember, Jupiter expands whatever he touches and he's literally touching Chiron. All bets are off and all first responders need to get their gear handy and sitting next to their bed.

Calling all survivalists and preppers, your time has come. You may also find yourself pressed into service as masses amounts of people will not be ready for "GO!" OR "IT'S TIME!" as they have been living in a F'ing fairytale not having a clue that the world is a bad bad place and bad bad people are in charge.

The rubber will meet the road (that's Aries for ya') and you will be pressed into service by friends and family. Mars is on the fringe of moving into Cancer on Saturday - March 25, 2023 causing a ruckus with family members, but at the same time there is a rescue of sorts for those in the family who finally had their 'Come to Jesus' moment. Mars in Cancer will bring us a hard time with family members that can appear in all sorts of ways, and not necessarily fighting with them.

You may hear of many people who complain of headaches during this Aries energy simply because Aries rules the head and the head-butting ram. This headstrong energy could be too much for some people. Watch for individuals complaining of headaches and rubbing their temples. A Grand Trine is when all three (3) points are in the same element - air, earth, fire or water. Scorpio and Pisces are water signs and Gemini is an air sign. When Mars moves into Cancer on Saturday - March 25, 2023 it will be a True and perfect Grand Trine the entire time three (3) points are within 08 degrees of each other. So yeah, okay, it looks like a Grand Trine, but just because something looks like something doesn't mean it is. Still, this energy does heighten your intuition, so use it or lose it.
