The BIG NEWS today is Mercury in Leo (fire) trines Jupiter in Aries (fire). This is an interesting combination as these two (2) planets normally square and oppose each other, but are making a trine to each other today. It's like two (2) siblings that are normally getting on each others nerves, are getting along just fine and playing together nicely. Here's the set-up.

Mercury naturally rules Gemini (3rd house) and Virgo (6th) house. When you see two (2) signs separated by two (2) signs aka two (2) houses, then they square each other. Squares beware! It's weird enough that Mercury squares itself, which easily tells us why communication is so damn challenging most of the time. And this is coming from a Gemini (me).

Jupiter naturally rules the 9th house. This means it naturally opposes Mercury (3rd) and squares Mercury (6th). So you see, by all accounts these two (2) planets should be wrestling around like two (2) cats on the verge of biting a little too hard, taking their playfulness to pissed-offed-ness, but that's NOT the case today.

Both Mercury and Jupiter are planets of transportation (travel), as well as planets of education and communication.
