The Sun moves into Virgo at 4:34 PM EDT until September 22, 2025.

The BIG NEWS today is the 'eve' of the New Moon in Virgo at 00 degrees 23 minutes. And see that makes sense because the New Moon is when the Moon and the Sun are in the same degree and same sign. So the Sun moves into Virgo today, which means it will be at 00 degrees. The Sun stays in a degree for pretty much 24 hours or one (1) days and then its on to the next degree.

The Moon is still in Leo today, then at 2:07 AM EDT tomorrow (Saturday) morning, August 23rd, the Moon will change signs out of Leo and into Virgo, which means the Moon will be at 00 degrees. Keep in mind the Sun moves into Virgo today at 4:34 PM EDT, so he will still be at 00 degrees for about 24 hours. That means at 2:07 AM EDT the Moon and the Sun will both be at 00 degrees 23 minutes. I am a North Node Virgo, the sign that rules the doctor, the nutritionist, the fitness instructor, physical health, physical therapy, occupational therapy, the chef, food, nutrition, hygiene, self-care, earthy, herbs and more healthful stuff. And here I am with a website called DrStandley.com, I teach yoga, have several gardens and grow a lot of my own herbs, I don't really like to eat out at restaurants and prefer cooking my own food. Oh, and I'm a yoga teacher. So how's that for fulfilling my North Node in Virgo. What is your North Node in and what are you doing about it?

So back to today and the Leo Moon morphing into the Virgo Moon. The sign of Leo is all about growth and improvement. Leo is 'the leader' on God's playground. Leo is NOT the boss, or the manager, unless of course Leo has their ego in-check and then they can become a great boss and manager, as long as they realize they are a leader first and people are 'copy cats'. So be a Good leader 'by example' more than anything.

By the way, when I do phone readings, even health consults, they are still 15, 30, 60 or 90 minutes, no matter what we are talking about. All readings, no matter what the subject matter is, runs along the same timelines.

- Here is a nice do-able list for you to begin or even do part-way for this New Moon in Virgo. Remember, it is all about self-care and being the 'Picture of Health'. If you notice, under the website domain name 'DrStandley.com' at the top of this website, underneath in 'gold' it says, "Teaching you to become your own best healthcare provider." IN GOLD! That is on purpose.

When I had my clinic, as a North Node Virgo, I did colonic irrigations on my patients. Detoxing my patients was as important to me as adjusting their spine and getting their mind straight through their Astrological Natal Chart. I would 'not' work with a patient without first considering their chart. And the 'Virgo' area of their chart told me how easy or difficult it would be to get inside the heart, head, mind and spirit to cause 'right' change to occur.

Since I'm speaking to a mass population of people gearing up for the New Moon in Virgo 'Picture of Health' here are some useful things you can do in order to get yourself on the right track. Remember, if you have weight (fat) to lose, this is the New Moon to get you going in that direction. At 2 to 2-1/2 lbs. per week, you could have all of your excess weight shed by Thanksgiving or even New Year's Day. Do not wait to live healthier on January 1st because you will have missed the best time of the year to do it.

So here we go . . . Here are some do-able suggestions. Do what you can, so that you can begin living and breathing a healthier Lifestyle. When you kickoff in this way, it will be easier to add BIGGER Lifestyle changes.

It's important to know that digestion begins in the mouth and ends at the anus, which is the route of the alimentary canal.

The body expresses on the outside what is happening on the inside. Even our resting face, body language and skin texture will tell what is occurring on the inside of our body.

AREAS OF DETOX

include the head, the skin, the organs, the refrigerator, the cupboards, weeds, etc. You get the picture?

Virgo is a super-picky, nit-picky, methodical, flaw-finding, and critical sign. Virgo is all about cleanliness and everything being neat and in its place. When you clean, treat the motions and movements as a moving meditation. All sounds are turned down and/or off. If you cannot be without your phone or noise while doing this, you might have BIGGER issues. Quiet yourself and take care of your piles. CLEAN YOUR SPACE!

THE SKIN

- The skin is the biggest 'organ' of the body. It secretes, absorbs, protects and insulates the body. Use a loofa sponge or some sort of body brush to DRY BRUSH the skin daily. The skin regenerates and replaces itself every 27-42 days. This is old dead skin, so DRY BRUSH and then moisturize, putting moisture back into the skin daily. A lot of our intuition comes through our skin and the tiny hairs all over the body.

THE TEETH

- Brush and floss daily. Use a mouthwash or rinse before bedtime to kill bacteria, ESPECIALLY if you snore because the mouth would be open at various times during the night.

THE EYES

- Use saline to wash the eyes out daily. AM and PM. Upon waking and before sleeping. Rinse the eyeballs with saline solution.

THE NOSE

- Blow your nose and clean it out every AM and every PM. If you can use a NETI POTI to flush filtered water or saline through your nose, then do that too. AM and PM

THE EARS

- Wipe out your ears. The auricle collects sound waves. Keep it clean and ready to receive signals and sounds.

FINGERNAILS

- Using a toothbrush as a nailbrush is perfect, especially for GARDENERS. Gloves help but some of us gardeners like to feel the Earth

TOENAILS

- Grapefruit Seed Extract works like dynamite on toenail fungus. I did not type 'Grape Seed Extract'. I typed 'Grapefruit Seed Extract'. Certainly it is easy enough to make your own extract. It's a YouTube video away, just look it up.

ARMPITS

- Stretch the armpits daily and rub them out. FEEL YOUR ARMPITS with your hands. Touch yourself. Also do side bends, Right to Left, with one arm straight up in the air, and then the other arm straight up in the air as you bend from one side to the next. The INTENTION is to stretch the armpits where a multitude of lymph nodes hang out. This will also stretch the neck, where more lymph nodes are found.

THE 13 NATURAL URGES

- GIVE YOUR BODY TIME, SPACE AND PERMISSION TO DO THESE

In yoga the 13 natural urges include:

1) Breath

2) Burping - Belching

3) Coughing

4) Crying

5) Defecating

6) Hunger - Thirst

7) Menstruation - or Menopause (the change)

8) Sexual Expression - Orgasm (Ejaculation)

9) Sleep

10) Sneezing

11) Urinating

12) Vomiting

13) Yawning

QUIET TIME

20 minutes a day, lay down, sit down and do nothing. NOTHING. No reading. No phone. No watching TV. You can meditate during this time, allow yourself to nap, reflect, stare at your belly button or a spot on the wall. There is a saying in Yoga that goes like this, "Don't just do something. SIT THERE!" So sit there, for 20 minutes doing absolutely nothing.

LIQUID

Drink 1/2 your body weight in ounces of water per day. In the summertime, add 20 ounces. Coffee, tea, energy drinks or any other type of drink do not count. IT MUST BE WATER. This will also tame your appetite. Think of your plants, you would no sooner pour coffee, tea, energy drinks, etc. over your plants. Go ahead and have other drinks, but 1/2 your body weight in ounces per day plus 20 ounces in the summer is a must. When you are detoxing, if you can abstain from alcohol, that would be primo! If you are going to a party during detox day, week or month, get back on schedule tomorrow. Simple as that. Don't beat yourself up.

FOOD

Eat pre-digested food, meaning it has been through a masticating process (like smoothies) or the food is more liquid and soupy. Smoothies, protein shakes, juicing, soups, stews. When you chew your food, it is called 'mastication'.

It will be tough not to eat MEAT or other fleshy foods (chicken, pork) during this time, but do your best. The body has to work hard to digest these foods, especially if these foods are not chewed slowly and mindfully into nothingness. Many times food is simply chewed a couple of times, then swallowed.

When you eat, allow your taste buds to enjoy the flavor. Eat slowly, so much so that the eating process becomes a moving meditation instead of a chow-down-race.

EPSOM SALT BATH

or your favorite bath.

Take 1 - 20 minute bath daily. You can do your dry skin brushing before bathing. You can also use this as your 20 minute quiet time. If the bath takes 40 minutes, great. Just give yourself 20 minutes to soak. If you can get 3 for 1 (brushing, bathing, meditating) that would be great too. Using Epsom salts is a natural detoxifier. Again, use your own favorite self-made bath if you like. It doesn't matter to me, if it matters to you.

BENTONITE CLAY AND PSYLLIUM SEED HUSK POWDER

A psyllium seed shake with a little bentonite clay will begin pulling toxins from the lining of your gut walls. This shake needs to be consumed as quickly as you make it. It has no taste but will gelatinate quickly so you need to consume it quickly. This shake is truly cleaning out the pipes and will bulk up your poop. Again, not putting meat and hard to digest foods (heavy) in your gut is important. You will ABSOLUTELY regret a bad diet and junk food if you couple that diet with these shakes. Again, PRE-DIGESTED liquidy food. Smoothies, protein shakes, juicing, soups, stews. Nothing heavy in the stews like meat, potatoes or corn.

KAOLIN CLAY (White powder)

This clay is great for facials. You don't need anything fancy, just a regular ol' natural koalin clay powder. You can do this before stepping into the tub or before bed. Or anytime, even during your quiet time.

MANY OF THESE THINGS

will get you doing them on a daily basis to keep your body, inside and out, clean as a whistle, and detoxed. It's the food that is the hardest part. But do what you can and DO NOT beat yourself up. You can eat plenty, just NO HEAVY hard to digest food.

The body needs to rest, including the alimentary canal, so the more you can stay on a liquid, easy, light, fare, the better. Smoothies, protein shakes, juicing, soups, stews.

Do what you can, even if you have parties, company or places to go. This is about being hyper-aware of your self-care. It is better to do what you can, than nothing at all.

This is about a better Lifestyle. If you can do this for a week, great! If you can do it for 2 weeks, GREATER! If you can do this for 40 days, then you are changing your Lifestyle. If you go off a week, and then back on, it's okay. Do what you can and don't beat yourself up.

Once you can get most of these things down, it will be easier to do on a daily basis.
