VENUS OPPOSING SATURN

This aspect depicts conflict which, when resolved, results in growth. Oppositions show a tug of war between opposing forces. If they are resolved, then the oppositions become the backbone and strength of the chart.

Venus not only rules love, dating, romance and relationships, it also rules money, self-worth, earned income, morals, values and possessions.

It is important to understand that Venus rules Love, beauty and relationships. Venus is aesthetic and artistic. There is an attachment or response to beauty. Saturn is the authority figure and father figure. It is the responsible one, the disciplinarian and the enforcer of rules, laws and governing. Saturn is the restrictor, limitor and stabilizing force.

This is a very rough aspect for money and relationships because Venus rules both. Venus is the co-ruler of Taurus and Libra. Taurus rules self-worth, personal money and possessions, while Libra rules committed relationships, marriages and partnerships. So you see, with an opposition to Venus from Saturn, it makes money and relationships a challenge. Someone is trying to save money, while someone else is spending the money before it hits the bank. And secretly make purchases behind your partner/spouse/mates back is an obscene financial and trust violation. Just sayin'.

Venus opposing Saturn gets partnerships, marriages, houses, families and homes alike churning and agitating like a washing machine over money and Love. The energy is being pulled in two (2) different directions. At this writing in 2026 Venus is in Libra (committed relationships) and Saturn is in Aries (me, me, me). While one person is focused on money, what is going in and out, the other person is spending, buying and planning a new big purchase.

Venus opposing Saturn pretty much brings a dark cloud looming over money and Love. While Venus naturally rules both the 2nd house of personal money, morals, values and self-worth, which translates into net-worth, Venus also rules the 7th house of committed relationships, marriages, business partnerships and contractual unions and agreements.

Saturn is a co-ruling planet. It is the ancient ruler of cold, aloof and emotionally distant Aquarius, and is also the natural ruler of Capricorn, the sign that is all-business and no-monkey-business, which makes it emotionally strict and serious. So you see, Venus is in Libra and Saturn is in Aries, meaning in opposite signs, it is pulling the energy in two (2) different directions.

This is a looming feeling with Venus opposing Saturn. It's scary when you have a question mark over money or Love, much less both.

Needless to say, there may be a lot of, "Honey we need to talk" energy in the air. While one wants to talk about money and Love, the other is dodging the conversation or confrontation. Well, it's gonna happen so you might as well either sit down at the kitchen table and talk it out, or stand-up and speak-up. Every couple needs to be on the same page. ON THE SAME PAGE, not opposite pages. Nothing is worse that not being able to communicate and confront an issue, and when that occurs, you can count on the situation getting worse.

If you are single, while it might be nice to have a little help or a little CMA (cover my ass) back-up-help, perhaps you can source that assistance or back-up through a friend or a family member. Maybe it's advice, maybe it's trading or sharing, or maybe it's more. It's wise to know who you can lean on, not count on. It's hard to count on yourself to straighten up and fly right without counting on others to rise to your occasion. So straighten-up and sober-up folks. This can certainly be a dark and cruel aspect. Will you be dark and cruel, or will you see it in someone else? Maybe someone you know finds themselves in a bad way and needs a tiny bailout. Just a tiny one. What's the problem? Perhaps your tax dollars that you are so eager to continue handing out, don't seem to cover what someone you actually know, needs. Ya' gonna give them some money? Hey, it's a tough aspect! Just throwin' out possible scenes for you to consider ways in which this aspect can go.

So here we have Venus opposing Saturn, which essentially doubles its challenges on August 21, 2026 because Venus naturally rules Libra, which naturally squares Saturn, but right now Venus is in an opposition to Saturn. Arrgh! What a mess! Venus opposing Saturn stinks!

Keep in mind Saturn is a transpersonal planet AKA social planet, which bridges the gap (along with Jupiter), between the personal planets and the generational planets. So this is in your personal world, most likely with another adult, and not really about buying school supplies for children.

So while 'crazy' is ramping up, this makes it necessary to confront the stressor at home that is giving you the headache, the stomach ache, the attitude, the chain smoking, the scrolling, the trolling and the 'have another drink'. Maybe you or your partner needs to say, "Honey we need to talk" and then sit on the couch and tell it like it is. It's a tough aspect, but dodging financial issues right now will cause further issues, it will hurt, and it will leave a mark, like trust or betrayal issues. And then Life gets even harder.

While this is usually an aspect that we want to pass over and NOT say, "Honey we need to talk", the timing is different. We can not and should not ignore the obvious and let drag on. Saturn rules time and timing, as well as self-discipline, maturity, responsibility and accountability.

This aspect is going to create some real trouble for couples and partners where each individual believes, behaves, thinks, communicates and operates entirely different than the other. One half of the relationship might even feel the power trip (Saturn) that the other individual is on because that person really holds the purse strings leaving the other person vulnerable and essentially with no power. That's unfortunate, just like this aspect. Unfortunate!
