Mars sextile Uranus processes very quickly and makes its mind up while it is in the process of moving forward. It's all happening at once. We were watching the NHL playoff the other night and while a hockey player was on the bench getting patched up with a cut above his eye, he barely pushed his helmet up for the medical trainer to access the cut. If you red the RED FONT ADDENDUM yesterday you saw that I am going to throw some challenges your way so you can see just how prepped and 'at the ready' you really are. In other words, on any given day, here and there, I will post a 'MOCK GRID DOWN' meme at the start of the Daily Horoscope so you pretend as though the grid went down and you have to switch gears and still get ready for your day.
If you do not practice 'mock grid down' then you will never really know just how 'at the ready' you really are, or not. The summer months can be a lot worse than the winter months in a grid down situation if you really think about it.
So here is the 'Mock Grid Down Day' meme. I will post the meme on any random day in the future, here or there. Follow the rules on the meme. Do not complicate things. It's just practice, but play along, and plug the holes in your prepping when you find it is necessary. The rules are on the meme.
1. Tape off the fridge & freezer and do not open. You are putting tape across the refrigerator and freezer to remind you that if it were an actual grid down situation, you would NOT BE opening your fridge and freezer because you have to conserve the temperature because you do not yet know how long the power will be out. Once you open the fridge or the freezer, the cold air escapes and you will lose product.
2. Unplug everything else for 24 hours. If you unplug everything else in the house including TVs, computers, lamps, etc., you will have an increased awareness of what you will need in a real grid down situation.
3. Use cold water. Since this is a mock grid down, you don't know how long the power will be out, so conserve the hot water in your water heater. Heat up your cold water using whatever cooking device you are using during grid down.
4. Use your preps. This is the time to use your pantry, your home canned food, store bought canned food, etc. Work your pantry. You prepped for it.
5. Figure it out and don't cheat yourself. If you do not take yourself through some practice runs and stay in the mock grid down, you will never really know what you need and if you have it and where is it? Are you ready?
6.
