Our hearts are in pieces over the loss of our dear friend, John Gerwitz. There are so many of us left behind who cherish a special relationship with John. Our emptiness and sorrow is devastating. We already miss him and it hurts. Even so, in the midst of our own pain and suffering, we praise You and give You thanks for blessing us with John’s animated, passionate and adventurous spirit.
John brought us together through his excitement for life and love for his family and friends. He lived each day in celebration and commemoration with an outpouring of pure enthusiasm. Somehow, he made each of us feel as though we were his best friend and he left us with memories to last a lifetime.
Father, John loved life so much and he was such a good man, which makes accepting his passing all the more difficult. Our comfort comes in knowing he is safely Home with Jesus for all eternity. John carried his cross with strength, dignity and courage knowing that Jesus rose from the dead so that we could all live forever.
Thank you Father, for the love you gave us and taught us through John Gerwitz.
We believe he is now in communion with You, as his last spoken words were . . . “Amen . . . Amen.”
